Built and Awaiting Shipment

I know there are literally dozens of simliar request for help here already on the Forum, but I'm just reaching out to the group out of frustration hoping that someone may be able to offer me some insight. I'm a day one reservation holder with a loaded Badlands 4DR hardtop. Experienced all of same delays as most of you, but did finally get a VIN abnd message that mine went into production on Jan 14. It was only supposed to take a few days according to the email from FORD, however it stayed "in production " for over 2 months until I finally got another email that it was "built" on March 24. That email said it was all done and just awaiting shipment, which should take "a few days to a week". Well, that was now two weeks ago, and nothing has changed. I've reached out to my dealer, and all he could confirm is that its official status is "RELEASED" and that really means it's complete and just waiting to get shipped, and he says there is no more informaiton that they can get. I've even asked if I can just go up and pick it up direct from the factory, but that's not an option.

I can't help but think something must be wrong and there is some other issue holding things up. With all the pressure FORD must be under from shareholders for falling delivery numbers and profit, I can't fathom why its would still be sitting around a parking lot in Detriot watiing to get loaded on a truck or train unless there is some other problem. Does anyone know how I can get more information or what might be the problem now? It is just mind blowing to me how bad of a job FORD has done with just basic communication to customers throughout this entire process.

Not what you want to hear but this is pretty much Par for the course. Two weeks waiting on transport is not out of the realm of possibilities. If you can get a rail car number you might be able to track it better.

I’ve been in this status since March 11th. I was told it’s considered a plant hold, but no one can say what this actually means. According to https://ordertrack.app/?utm_source=Bronco+6g+Forum&utm_medium=Social&utm_campaign=Launch
There are 270 currently being tracked with the same status

I'm in the exact same boat. Built on 3/6 and still "Delay - Plant Hold" and no one can tell me when it will ship out. Once it was built and I had a shipping estimate of 3/30, I sold my car. I realize that's on me, but I couldn't even imagine why a vehicle would be built and still just sitting there. I had the microchip issue in January but that is no longer on my status. It's INCREDIBLY frustrating. No one can tell me anything. And I'm sharing a vehicle and working full time and have 2 small children. It's insanity. And here's my timeline:

10/15/20 - Reservation
January 2021 - Ordered
October 2021 - Converted to '22

Probably about the same timeline as you, and just as frustrated.

Over the course of a couple weeks in mid to late March there were tons of Broncos moved from “in production” to “built”, all at the same time…one of which was mine. Now the bottleneck appears to be getting a spot on the train. There have been relatively few in our 1/17 build week that have actually shipped of late, after waiting months on a chip hold.
Grab a beer, pull up a seat and and try to relax…..there’s still a lot of day oner’s that haven’t even received a VIN yet, so count yourself as fortunate. We’re definitely in the home stretch.

I’m in the same predicament! Built 3/15 and waiting on shipment. I was told by my dealer shipment is via train and no trains available. Who knows how long we’ll have to wait. It’s a new world we live in and I’m still adjusting. Oh well, they have the units built but we still have our money! Ford can’t be happy either.

You must be close to Michigan. Well at least closer than me :)
Its interesting that it takes 3-4 weeks for a train to travel 2000 miles to Kalifornia when they travel at least 10 mph average. A train that does not move makes no money.
2000 miles divided by 10 equals 200 hours not the 3000-4000 hours that are in 3 weeks min.

my dad is an exec at Ford (I have a 2 door wildtrak on order currently) and because of that, I’ve been driving company cars my whole life basically. From experience I would say you will get your vehicle 6-8 weeks after you get a build confirmation.

Thanks for the inside Executive insight on shipping time post build date. This helps me manage expectations rather than get emotional over being in the dark. All good as long as it shows up complete, no issues and no damage. It’s been a process for all of us. Let’s all hope all issues stop upon delivery of our personal unit!! Hang in there, all is good!!!

You were right. I received shipping notice via rail today 4/15 for a 3/15 build date. Hopefully within a week or so I will see the unit I’ve been dreaming of and attached to since July2020!!

Was hoping to see my notice today it just says "51 others awaiting shipment" down from 75 a week ago. I've given up trying to make any sense out of this process just watching my email inbox everyday. Build date 1/18/21 BTW. Glad you got your truck coming!

I had a November 21 order, my build date moved once from February 20 to March 14. It was started then, finished 3/25 and shipped 3/26. It arrived in New Hampshire on 4/8.
Love it.

This message came in on Good Friday saying mine was shipped. Hopefully yours won't be too far behind. Here's another link you can try that will give you an estimated ship date - (https://www.ford.com/buy/manage.html?reservationId=). Put your reservation ID# after the = sign.

Mine is exactly the same! build date of 1-25 sat in production (ice mountain) for 2 months. Then on the 30th I finally got the built email! Now sitting awaiting shipment! WTH! My dealer told me the same thing and can provide no other info nothing! It's so frustrating!

My dealer was all excitement etc at first now they take 2-4 weeks just to answer an email. They are burned out too I think. They probably thought they would sell 100's of these things I bet they haven't delivered even 50 so far. Ugg....mine has been sitting on ice mountain since 1/19, I feel your pain bud
