<$10 seatbelt recall = no more deliveries until Q4?!

my best friends at the customer support line (and subsequently the recall dept today) informed me that commentary from various dealers is indeed correct - any Bronco that has not already been delivered to its buyer will not be delivered to its buyer until Q4 at the earliest (by federal law). i think back to the original "in production" message saying "a few days to a week" ... sounds like that's turning into ~6 months for a <$1.00 part.

let this thread serve as the town square for rants and...eventually good news. i'm guessing certain dealers will get these parts before others, and current communication is probably erratic so good to hear others' intel.

In case everyone is confused...

@Laura wrote up a quick article about it around 2 months ago.

Those vehicles that were impacted are now starting to arrive at dealerships. Because it is considered to be a safety issue, federal law prevents your dealership from selling you the vehicle until the recall is completed.

Curious then how are these people on FB who are tracking their delivery on the train and posting their pickup getting them from the dealers?

Mine is a ‘22 4DR WT and I was looking today… I don’t even get the issue?? I’ve never once had a problem getting ahold of my seatbelt and I’m not a “small” guy… and I’ve never once felt inclined towards not wearing it for any reason?

If I were a conspiracy theorist… 😏

Apparently the recall affects certain trims not all. Badlands is affected. Not sure about the others. I’m stymied because the NHTSA recall date is May 18, 2023, but Ford didn’t announce it until July 5, 2023. I closed the purchase on mine and took delivery from the dealer on May 23, 2023. Not sure how this works.

Recalls, recalls... I currently have the seat belt recall and the one for the backup camera turning on in 4Low.

Yeah, I'm sure I'll be fine without doing either of those. Especially since for some odd reason they usually end up being all day affairs at the dealership. Waste of time.

I'm hoping that is my case. It was built on 6/29, so past the date of the recall builds but still says it is pending shipping. I'm in no hurry since I have another one currently but excited to get the new one.

My January 2022 order that finally went into production on the very last day of the recall date range (5/9) has been in "Built" status and awaiting shipment since 6/20. I am having a really hard time with the recall saying it will be Q4 before they are able to get the parts in to fix it. If it really is just this plastic piece, why can't they just toss two in with the shipment and send it out? I was patient with this long wait when there were general supply chain issues, but the wait for this little piece of plastic when my Bronco is built and just sitting on a lot in Never Never Land, MI is pretty depressing.

Seat belt victims I feel your pain. My Bronco sat for 4 months in Snow Mountain waiting for unknown computer chip. If Ford can find a way to screw things up, its almost like they try. No apologies, courtesy cash, nothing.

My VIN was updated to show no open recalls on it. Looks like it may have been fixed before it left MI. It should be on rail currently, so I am hoping it won't be much longer than a week or so before I see her!

That is the case for mine as well. See link with more information and a lady who purchased her Bronco yesterday when it was lifted. I am just waiting to hear from my dealer today. He was out yesterday and will be checking into my delivery.
