My Bronco completed production the first week of September. It was released by Ford to the CSX Rail on November 12th. Its been sitting in Blue Island Illinois since November 26th in a rail car and hasn't moved according to Ford customer service and my dealer. No one knows anything on the delay and no one seems to care. My salesman just says "Im so puzzled by this" The longer I wait for it to get here, the lower my trade value is worth and the higher the interest rates are. This whole thing is beyond frustrating as I see 2023's coming into my dealer on a regular basis but my 2022 is just been sitting for 2 months in a rail yard. At this point I don't even want the da*n Bronco anymore... Sorry for the rant..

My dealer just got me 3.9 financing. Ford was trying to make me pay 7%. My dealers said, no. We ordered this back in June and wanted a special rate, and I got it. Your dealer can make it work!

I know it is frustrating @Jimk but you are so close to the finish line. You are actually a lucky one, yours was built. There are going to be lots of Broncos that will not/cannot be built and the reservation holder must lose some important features just to get one, and it is still no guarantee they will get one before the reservation/order slate is wiped clean for MY24. Before you give up I think you owe it to yourself to at least check it out when it gets here. They really are a great vehicle. Good luck

This will likely be my last ford vehicle. Terrible decision making from what has become a terrible company.

Honestly , if your dealer is putting 2023's on the lot and they are FOR SALE and not already owned preorders. Then the dealer should do something. Hell , ford should do something. Not your fault the railroad company is stupid.

I have a Bronco, was going to order a second one, got the email and canceled. Now I’m working on trading the Bronco I do have for a Jeep. Sick of the crappy sounding engine, the bulky and cludgy handling, and the unintuitive and flat out stupid instrument cluster. Test drove the 23 Jeep and it’s worlds ahead of Bronco. Ford really doesn’t deserve our money, especially the way they treat us.

Noticing more of these threads and for sale threads ever since we sold our bronco last week. 2023 going to be a tough year folks.

We all have our reasons for selling or being upset. Those who have waited so long should be first in line. Period

Ford quality took a nose dive starting 2020. Ford dealers took a nose dive starting 2022. Tread carefully.

If you are trading, your current vehicle is worth little.

If you are trying to sell your bronco you'll be lucky to get MSRP value.

If buying a used car do your research first, but many good deals right now.

If buying a new car they are priced better these days as well.

Interest rates are trash right now so be ready to pay up or get denied, even with 700+ credit score.

If you are stuck in negative equity, find a good used car deal under msrp and wrap negative equity into new car loan. Some lenders are so desparate for customers they will loan over 150% loan to value right now but be ready to pay 10% interest.

Jeeps are great, owned 2, but have to admit our bronco at least the way it was set up drove much better than Jeep. But guts wise (engine) Jeep better.

This is the letter I sent to Ford Sales and Ford Brand Reputation Specialist on Nov 27, 2022

Dear Ford Sales and Brand Reputation Specialist,
I asked to be on a waiting list for 2024.
I set up my Ford account on 2/26/21 and submitted a $100 deposit. My reservation confirmation was 2/26/21 #10687420. I got the email from Ford that there were problems with the hard top and was given price protection through 2023. My order was updated to a 2022 model year on 10/19/21. On 11/1/21 my order was confirmed. On 8/19/22 it was scheduled for production. An Email on 10/18/22 stated that it was built. The Bronco was shipped on 10/10/22 by rail. It Arrived in Richmond, Ca. with a passenger rear flat tire. On 11/21/22 it arrived at the dealership. I went to pick it up, signed purchase agreement and DMV paperwork. I provided a check for full transaction amount of $66,257.57. We did not test drive the vehicle. Before we left the dealership, the Bronco was taken to be fueled up by the staff. The Bronco returned with “noises coming from the rear end?”. I was asked to leave the Bronco for inspection. On 11/23/22 the dealership called and told me that the “front end needed to be replaced”. At that point I declined the purchase of the Bronco. I did not want to purchase a “New” custom Bronco that needed extensive work before I obtained ownership. I wanted to reorder the same vehicle for the 2023 model year and was advised that all custom order allocations were not available for the 2023- model year. I asked to be on a wating list for a 2024 model year. I have not been contacted by Ford regarding this matter.

So, Ford does hundreds-of-thousands of dollars in business with CSX to deliver their vehicles and when one is stalled in transition from point A to point B for nearly three months - Ford's response is basically "can't help you mister dedicated and loyal customer."

This is totally unacceptable. Someone knows where and what is causing the hold-up, and if they don't, they sure as hell could find out.

I'd FedEx a letter to Jim Farley ASAP and see what the "big guy" has to say. This is totally unacceptable.

Quality is why I just traded mine last week after just 3.5 months. That and my secondary hard top order will not get built this year due to the recent announcements. I jumped ship while the opportunity was still good.

Still love the Bronco and love admiring what people do to theirs. Just not the right and reliable vehicle I want and need right now. Hopefully I will try again in a few years when everything levels out and quality drastically improves.

What’s really funny about this is Ford and Chrysler or whatever name you want to give them have raised there transportation delivery fees. Ironic.

Ford is the leader in recalls for 2022 not the best look. I pick up my Bronco on Monday. I will make sure I test drive it and if I take it home, I will cross my fingers and hope for the best. The funny thing about it is it won’t be the first Ford I’ve lost money on, but I know for sure it will be the last.

I lived through the 2003-2007 6.0 Power stroke Fiasco in my 2004 F250. I still have the truck but I replaced the motor with a proper 12v Cummins from a Freightliner FL70. Just really like the Super duties. Although I wish I had my 6.8l V10 instead.
And I am sticking with them on the Bronco.

I told your story to the new car manager at my local Ford dealer today and he has a very plausible explanation to what happened to your Bronco. He explained that it was probably delivered to the wrong dealership, and unless the mis-delivered dealer noiiced it, the original dealer due the vehicle is out of luck. The manager told me this has happended to them in the past it it was just by luck that they eventually got the car which was a Mustang.

It sounds like to me that Ford has a very, very poor inventory control method on delivered vehicles. My guess is the missing Bronco possibly went to a dealership close to where it was suppose to go.

yeah I don't live far from Blue Island, IL. I can tell you that the rail yard is packed full. Not sure what's going on over there but I can only guess they are short staffed.

No, thats not it. Its sitting in a railyard with no update from Ford since November 7th. The VIN is still clear and isn't attached to anyone. Don't get me started on Ford and their inventory methods..

Yea, but no reason for a vehicle to be sitting there over 2 months.. Thanks for the info though..

Out of curiosity what were the circumstances where you have bought vehicles and haven't lost money? Cars are depreciating assets that by definition lose value...
