Bronco Sport Roof Rack by TrailRax

Just like the half- and full-rack options for 2- and 4-door Bronco, the TrailRax Modular Roof Rack for the Sport lets you take your adventure farther.

The all-aluminum rack lets you carry everything from rooftop tents to kayaks easily. Add the PAKRAX kit and get additional mounting points for traction boards, shovels, 2-gallon rotopaX containers, and more.

American-Made Design

The TrailRax team has taken care to design a rack that works well for the Sport. Sunroof use is not compromised, and they built in features we love from the Bronco version into the Sport rack: a wind deflector to eliminate noise and a cut-out to flush-fit a light bar into the rack.

Customize yours with or without the side PAKRAX kit, and go with the standard wind deflector or choose the deflector with the cut-out for a light bar.

“This combination of our roof rack and Heretic's 40" light will allow the light to sit below the top face of the aluminum TSLOT so that the rack is completely level for those larger items on the rack,” says Adam Engelke, CEO and President, TrailRax.

“Our aluminum extrusions/TSLOTS that come with the rack are anodized black and cut to length with absolute precision. The extrusions are made locally here in Utah and have a high-stress rating as well as deflection rating giving the user the best load capacity possible.”

Like TrailRax’s other products, the Bronco Sport roof rack is made in the USA.

Easy Install

The rack uses a mounting system that clamps onto the OEM Ford roof rails for a simple bolt-on design. No drilling or dropping the headliner is required.

Specs:

  • Overall height added to your Bronco Sport: 3.06" from the center of the roof in the rear OR 1.84" from the highest point of the OEM rack at the front of the vehicle.
  • Static load rating of the rack: 700 lbs. evenly distributed across the rack, verified in CAD and real-life testing
  • Dynamic load rating of the rack: 250 lbs. evenly distributed across the rack, verified in CAD and real-life testing

Ford rates the Bronco Sport factory roof rack at 600 lbs. static and 150 lbs. dynamic.

“We build our rack to be capable on its own of withstanding 250 lbs. static, and 700 lbs. dynamic,” says Engelke. “All these weights will be at your discretion as they are above Ford's ‘recommended’ capacities. GVWR and other factors such as roof materials, the center of gravity, and wind dynamics all apply to any load you put on top of a vehicle, and you, as the user, are responsible for the safe loading and operation of your vehicle. Please review your Owner's Manual to review your recommended payloads for your Bronco. If you need more information, please contact the team at [email protected].”
