National Camping Month Is a Great Time To Take Your Bronco Under the Stars!

The calendar says summer officially begins on June 21, but the sunny skies and warmer temps have everyone excited to spend as much time enjoying life outdoors in the fresh air. There is nothing like camping to make that happen, and there’s a reason it continues to be a favorite outdoor activity for people of all ages. While National Camping Month is observed in June every year, camping is a great adventure that Bronco owners enjoy all year long. Hop in that Bronco today and escape the daily grind by reconnecting with nature and sleeping under the stars.

Make Memories in the Great Outdoors.

I think camping is one of the BEST outdoor activities, whether you are flying solo, with your family, or a group of friends. We camped all of the time growing up. There were five kids in our family and driving/camping was a way more affordable option for my parents, rather than seven plane tickets and two hotel rooms. Those camping trips made it possible for my mom and dad to afford to take us on family vacations every summer, and they were the best times our very close family had.

From our two-day drive to camp near Disneyworld, our annual trips to go camping/tubing in northern Michigan, or crossing the bridge to Canada to camp with our cousins… camping is a core memory to some of my happiest times as a kid. As I got older, camping became a great way to hang out with my friends around a campfire for a few days. It is always the perfect no frills, no stress, getaway.

Gear Up Before You Go.

Obviously, the right gear is essential to creating a camping adventure that is comfortable, safe, and efficient. From the perfect chair to lounge around the bonfire or have your morning coffee along the riverbank, the tent that lets you create your own basecamp, storage boxes and carriers to keep your cargo organized, and more…the Bronco Nation Gear Store has an entire collection of camping gear available to keep you ready to go. And don’t forget, as a Bronco Nation member, you’ll SAVE 10% on any online purchase in the Gear Store.

Pick Your Place to Park It.

Finding a spot to set up camp is so much easier today than it was when I was younger. I remember my parents had booklets (almost like a Yellow Pages) that they would look through and circle potential campgrounds. Eventually we found our “go to” spots, but there is so much more out there now to help you search (and with bright color photos to see what you are actually signing up for!). And don’t forget our new Bronco Nation partner, onX Offroad. This app is not only great for navigating trails to visit, but it can also be used to identify legal camping areas during your journey. Check it out today.

Want to camp in a national park or forest? There are many spots to choose from.

The best sources of information about camping in parks is found on specific park websites or on the NPS app. Start by visiting the National Park Service website or download the NPS App and discover incredible camping options all over the country. Many campgrounds require reservations that can be made through Recreation.gov. This is the federal government’s centralized travel planning and reservation platform for outdoor recreation, and a great resource to help you discover and experience new places to explore.

Another great option for finding a campsite is to check state-specific websites.

For example, at Michigan.gov, you’ll discover more than 1,000 campgrounds statewide, including over 103 state park and recreation areas that offer diverse camping experiences in settings all throughout Michigan. This would be an especially great site to check out if you are coming to Michigan in August for the Bronco Takeover at Silver Lake Sand Dunes and/or the annual Woodward Dream Cruise! Our beautiful Great Lake State has so many places to camp and explore. Check the state recreation sites for your next camping destination today.

The Bronco Nation community is an awesome resource for camping suggestions.

Our members love to get out in nature and are always ready to share experiences they’ve had in their Bronco. The Bronco Nation Forum is a great place to start; where you can connect with thousands of fellow Bronco owners and post a question, request recommendations, or review previous posts to get ideas. Another way to connect with fellow Bronco owners and enthusiasts is a Bronco Club. You could try reaching out to a Bronco Club near where your camping adventure is taking you, and they may have some local recommendations for you.

Hope you are able to get out and have some camping fun this summer!
