The Ford Bronco turned 59, and we can’t stop celebrating our favorite ride. We’re so excited to keep the celebration going this week as we gather with hundreds of Broncos and enthusiasts at the Woodward Dream Cruise in Michigan. This 59th birthday has gotten many of us reflective about the Bronco and the journey it’s been on since its beginning in 1965.
LISTEN & LEARN: BRING BACK BRONCO PODCAST
If you love Bronco history and nostalgia like we do, you should definitely check out the Bring Back Bronco Podcast. Debuting in August 2020 to coincide with the re-launch of the new generation of Broncos, this eight-episode podcast series takes you on a fun historical journey about this American icon.
“I have been listening to the ‘Bring Back Bronco’ podcast and wow — there is a lot of history I didn't know,” said Bronco Nation Member EGBronc.
Produced by Ford Motor Company, Bring Back Bronco shares the incredible story of the Ford Bronco — from the birth of the legendary SUV, to the infamous OJ chase and its cancellation in 1996, to the efforts of the Bronco Underground, a group of dedicated Ford employees who worked for more than two decades to bring the Bronco back to Ford showrooms.
“For those who want this brief history on the Bronco, this podcast series is awesome. Highly recommend it,” said Bronco Nation member RagnarKon. “Goes through the introduction of the Bronco, to all the decisions/reasons behind why Ford canceled it in the 1990s. And finally, how the Bronco was brought back.”
The series features experiences and stories from a variety of Bronco enthusiasts, drivers and members of the Ford team. “We are really proud of this podcast, and the way we tell this unique story," says Ford Chief Communications Officer Mark Truby, who owns a vintage Bronco himself.
