“‘You get the Bronco blood in you and it never leaves.’” Read Tim Hulick’s story in The Wall Street Journal.

Bronco Nation member Tim Hulick, #013, has a collection many of us dream of checking out –– if not actually having for ourselves. Since the 1980s, he’s owned approximately 35 Broncos, and keeps 13 now. Both Ford and The Wall Street Journal have recently covered his passion, and we'd like to highlight the stories in case you haven't seen them!

Ford's From the Road article celebrates 60 years of Bronco love, and you can read The Wall Street Journal's full article here, though access may require a subscription.

The Man Behind the Wheel

Tim’s a Gen 1 fan, with many Early Broncos to his name, including a pristine Peacock Blue roadster, and his love for the brand has spread throughout his family. His daughter Kassie has an Area 51 Outer Banks and, like her sister Kailey, also loves the classics. Kailey's Bronco is Frito, a build Tim put together with close Bronco friends. He's done plenty of interior work on his Broncos, as well as mechanical upkeep and suspension improvements.

Within the family, he’s “the Bronco guy,” and if you attend Bronco events like Super Celebration, you may have met him and gotten to know him as a friendly man, humble about what he has and happy to share his enthusiasm with you.

Being a Bronco guy has brought lifelong friendships and some pretty cool perks. Tim was at the first private reveal of the 2021 Bronco and Sport to a group of diehard enthusiasts in Dearborn, Michigan, before either vehicle launched.

"That was a trip of a lifetime for a Bronco nut such as me," Tim says. "Seeing the prototypes and clay models blew my mind!"

Tim definitely earned the right to be there. Read Bronco historian Todd Zuercher’s book, “Ford Bronco: A History of Ford’s Legendary 4X4,” and you’ll quickly start seeing caption after caption tied to Tim. His collection of Bronco memorabilia is extensive, topped only by his knowledge of the SUV.

One of his favorite collector's items is a "canvas Bronco banner that used to hang at dealerships, announcing the Bronco," says Tim. "It's the only one known and was gifted to me by Dave Metz, fellow roadster owner from Florida. He knew I was the person to carry the torch after his passing." You can find the banner on page 14 of "Ford Bronco: A History of Ford's Legendary 4x4." It's a book any Bronco owner can benefit from and that we reference often, so pick up a copy if you don't own it already!

We caught up with Tim this week; he was just out on an off-roading trip in Colorado with family and friends, running Black Bear Pass and Hancock Pass in Old Blue, his nearly stock 1966 he brought to his home in Iowa from New Hampshire.

Tim and Kassie

This time marks five years of return trips to the Centennial State, where a group of long-time Bronco owners and fans have been running an annual epic adventure –– a tradition even 6th generation owners here in the Nation are picking up.

"The Colorado mountains and Utah are some of the best times I've had off-roading with other enthusiasts," says Tim.

Catch up with the Hulicks at major Bronco events, like Bronco Driver's 2nd Annual Throwback, happening September 25-27, 2025, in Townsend, Tennessee. "Super Celebration events have become annual family reunions for all of us," says Tim. And we at Bronco Nation think you should follow tims_earlybroncos on Instagram to keep tabs on his collection. We asked Tim if he's been been able to track his sold Broncos, and he knows of some, but hasn't pursued them after they changed hands again. "The Broncos I have in my collection will stay put for good, and will be passed onto my daughters and wife."

Additionally, check out RoadsterU13.com, a space Tim has created “for the love and benefit all Roadster owners.” Like Tim, Bronco Nation loves showcasing all things Ford Bronco, and we asked him what those newer to Bronco should keep in mind about its legacy.

"Realize where Bronco's bloodline started," says Tim. "The 6G has the same DNA as its ancestors: very capable off-roaders/styling/nostalgia. There's a lot of influence from previous Bronco generations."

Thanks to Tim for keeping history alive and inspiring new generations of owners and enthusiasts in our love and use of these amazingly fun, capable SUVs!
