Did you see it? Last night, Ford wiped their entire social media presence — gone. Every post, every story, every reel — deleted. Just a clean slate with the Blue Oval staring back at us. It left many of us wondering what was going on.
And then this morning, it all made sense. Well… sort of.
“Ready, Set, Ford.”
Ford came back online with a bold new tagline: “Ready, Set, Ford.” Along with it came a high-energy reel, short, punchy, and loaded with adrenaline and emotion. From wrangling a lost cow in a storm to jumping off a cliff into Lake Powell, giving us the feeling that something big and exciting is on the horizon. Even more significant, this marks Ford’s first global marketing campaign in a decade.
Mike Levine, Ford’s Director of North America Communications, took to Instagram to offer some insight:
“Ready, Set, Ford is more than just a tagline. It’s a catalyst designed to help our customers reach their full potential and feel ready for anything. It’s our public commitment to you that our capability, our passion, and our innovation will match your own. And it’s a signal of a new chapter for Ford; one filled with energy and excitement.”
And Ford isn’t shy about why this is happening now. The auto industry is in the middle of its biggest transformation in over a century, new tech, new products, new competitors, and as Ford’s Chief Marketing Officer Lisa Materazzo put it:
“There’s a belief not all brands are going to survive this transformation.”
“Ready, Set, Ford,” Materazzo explained, is designed to “focus on the emotional lifestyles” of the customers Ford serves around the world. In other words, Ford isn’t just talking about trucks and SUVs, they’re talking about what those trucks and SUVs empower us to do.
More Than Marketing Fluff?
Is this just a flashy new global campaign to remind us of the Blue Oval’s timeless script? Maybe, but it feels like something bigger. It feels like Ford is hinting at more, telling us all to get ready for major changes.
And the timing is too perfect to ignore. Just last week, Ford Performance Racing dropped the “Performance” name and went back to Ford Racing, signaling a recommitment to its motorsport roots, something I’m personally thrilled about and hopefully this extends to off-road racing.
What’s Next for Ford?
So, here’s the real question: what comes after “Ready, Set, Ford”? And, to dial down to what’s really important, what does that mean for Bronco and Bronco Sport owners?
New vehicle launches? Could we see a hybrid Bronco and Bronco Sport? Maybe even a new off-road vehicle or trim? With Bronco turning 60, it will be interesting to see what’s next.
Motorsport expansion? Ford Racing is back, does this mean more factory-backed racing programs?
New connection with enthusiasts? Will we see Ford step up with more community events, even more involvement with off-road education, and more driver-focused innovations?
Whatever it is, it’s clear Ford is doing more than just refreshing a logo or a hashtag. They’re signaling a shift. Could this shift in energy include a renewed commitment to enthusiasts and customers alike?
Ready. Set. Ford.
What do you think this all means? Could we be on the edge of seeing the next big thing from Ford or is it indeed just a new advertising campaign for existing vehicles? Share your comments below and stay tuned for further updates as we get them.
