Ford Protect, the extended warranty brand from Ford Motor Company, now offers New Off-Road Coverage for Bronco and Bronco Sport SUVs with select Ford Protection plans.

For the first time, Ford Protect is offering this unique coverage for the Ford Bronco and Bronco Sport. When added to select Ford Protect plans, the new Off-Road Use Option can help cover tire and wheel damage, minor chips and cracks to the windshield, or small dents to the exterior panels that may come with driving on unpaved terrain. With this new Off-Road Coverage, you extend your 3-year/36,000 base coverage, included with the purchase of your vehicle, to include vulnerable items not covered.

Ford Bronco factory wheel replacement costs can run from $400-$500 per wheel, with tire replacement costing between $300 and $400 per tire, not including mounting and balancing. With the new Off-Road Use Option, the most common causes of a tire or rim damage can be covered under TireCARE.

The most compelling item on this list for most Bronco owners will likely be the windshield coverage. Due to the height, use, and upright nature of the 2021-2023 Bronco, windshield damage is a common issue for owners. Windshield replacement costs can exceed $900 on a 6 generation Bronco, depending on the series and options your vehicle has. Not only does your windshield need to be replaced if damaged beyond repair, but vehicles equipped with Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) must be calibrated by a technician. This video from Ford shows you how the technology works, and the complexity of this task.

Advance Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) calibration

WindshieldCARE does not cover windshield replacement but covers damage like rock chips or cracks under 6 inches in length. Repairs of this chips or cracks can help prevent the common causes of windshield replacement.

While there are several warranties available at the time of purchase, Ford Protect is the only extended service plan backed by Ford. Unlike some of their competitors, Ford requires the use of Ford-authorized parts installed by Ford certified technicians.

To be eligible, your Bronco or Bronco Sport must be within the base vehicle warranty included when you purchased your vehicle –– 3-year/36,000 miles. FordPass Rewards points may be redeemed to help pay for this coverage. Check below to see what is and isn’t covered and contact your dealer to confirm eligibility.
