Attending King of the Hammers is a rush. From the sheer amount of people and vehicles to the vast desert to play in, there are wild experiences happening left, right, and center. It’s a lot to take in, a lot of land to cover, and a ton not to miss out on.
That’s why we love popping up Bronco Basecamp at KoH and big events like it. These camps are meant as an easy entry into new and repeat places: a little bit of solace, unique happenings, a big gathering of friends, and some guidance on seeing as much as possible.
No matter how many people you know in the community beforehand, your age, interests, or the off-roading experience you have, there’s space for you. And we can almost promise you’ll leave having had a great time with your Bronco family!
The Immaculate Vibes of KoH
Like 2022, this year was a blast. The community came with campers, overland setups, or stayed in our tents right on the desert floor, within sight of the racetrack and overlooking the hundred thousand lights of off-road adventurers.
We had campfires with ARB, FOX, and Jason Scherer, a navigation course with Rebelle Rally champion Melissa Clark, and guided drives with Bronco Off-Roadeo New Hampshire and Texas experts Greg, Evan, and Corey.
We trekked to Bronco Knoll, Rattlesnake Canyon, and across the miles of lakebed, rocks, whoops, and dunes of Johnson Valley. Then we “Chased the Race” to watch Bronco’s 4600 Class drivers come to a 1-2-3 finish and visited with these winners –– Vaughn Gittin Jr., Loren Healy, Brad Lovell, Roger Lovell, Bailey Cole, and Mitchell Thorpe –– to hear about the race firsthand and get awesome individual pictures of our Broncos with their trucks.
Our time on the trails, around the dinner tables, and next to each other’s Broncos was the crown of the week. There are hours’ worth of catch-up to do at events, whether you’re just meeting someone or have known members of the community for a while: the miles you’ve traveled to camp, the new modifications you’ve done, and the cool trips you’ve taken or plan to do. It all adds up to “together” being the best times of the year.
We have two more Bronco Basecamps coming up very soon: One in Tennessee at Super Celebration East and another in Utah at Moab Bronco Safari. The Bronco Nation team can’t wait to welcome you, check out your Broncos, and experience a big community become that much closer!
