We are just getting home from our long but amazing journey to the Woodward Dream Cruise. Although the cruise itself is a mostly one-day event, Bronco Nation made sure it was a multiple day adventure. It was so wonderful seeing people from the BN community again, as well as connecting with and meeting new friends.

Bronco Sport Attempts Mt. Magna at Holly Oaks

As everyone knows by now, although I embrace all things Bronco, my heart is with the Bronco Sport, so I thought I would highlight an awesome member story that happened on Thursday. Jenna, from Philadelphia, represents the spirit of the Sport, mini and mighty. Not only did she drive her Sport over 600 miles to attend the Bronco Nation event, but she also showed up to our first activity, a private Holly Oaks ORV Park day. She came in driving her 2022 Area 51 Bronco Sport Big Bend and was the only Sport to show that day, in a field of Broncos.

Brian and I had pre-run the area earlier that morning and found a trail suitable for All Broncos, which included a route up a fabricated concrete mountain called Mt. Magna. We anticipated ending the trail ride here to allow a few minutes for Bronco Nation members to flex out their vehicles and perhaps provide some spotting on some of the harder routes if owners wanted to try them.

Bronco Sport Big Bend Proves to Be a Capable Rock Crawler

Jenna was probably the third or fourth in line, and she started driving over to park her Sport, thinking the concrete beast wasn’t for her. I started yelling for her to come back and dramatically showed her what I considered a Bronco Sport line (although I had only driven a Bronco up it). She backed up, and we had a brief conversation about what it might take to climb it and that failure was a possibility. She reminded me that she had a Big Bend, not a Badlands. I told her I thought she, and the car, could do it.

She agreed and after a bit of spotting to find the right approach angle –– and some spinning wheels, she drove her Sport right up to the top. This photo is actually her second drive up, because she didn’t get any photos of her first go. Jenna is driving her Sport to its full potential, and it looked like she was smiling for the rest of the weekend. You know there’s no stopping her now, and I wonder what we’ll see from Jenna in the future? Nice job!

Bronco Sports Belong in Bronco Corral

There were over 400 Broncos in the Bronco Corral on Woodward on Saturday, and several Sports were in attendance, including a Cyber Orange First Edition as well as a Heritage. Our friends from Canada, Erin and Christy, who recently attended Moab Off-Roadeo were there too, in their lifted white Bronco Sport Badlands.

Ford’s Newest 2024 Line-Up in Attendance

It was also great to get up close and personal to the Bronco Sports that Ford provided on display in the Corral on Woodward. The Free Wheeling trim and the Black Appearance Graphics Package on the Big Bend were both there, allowing everyone to get a closer look.

All in all, it was a great weekend in Michigan, and a wonderful first Woodward Dream Cruise for Brian and me.

Stay tuned for more on the trip to Michigan –– we pre-ran an up-north adventure for Sport drivers ... announcement coming soon!
