King of the Hammers –– the great gathering of off-roaders in the Californian desert –– has cemented itself as a favorite event for Bronco Nation staff. The last few years have been a blast; what will 2024 hold?
Here's why we've loved spending the end of January with you annually, and why you might want to think about attending King of the Hammers and experiencing the "wild" for yourself.
Going? KOH tickets are only $50 through September 30!
The People
For the last three years, Bronco Nation has been in Johnson Valley, home of extensive Bronco durability testing, for the massive event. And every year, more people from the community have made it out with us. Camping with you, watching Broncos at Chase the Race checkpoints together, hanging out at the campfire, navigating the masses on Chocolate Thunder at night … it makes for an awesome time to catch up, while experiencing something so unique from other meet-ups.
The Activities
In 2022, Bronco Nation got to take our community over to the first in-person public reveal of the Bronco Raptor. Last year, a special treat was parking our Broncos individually next to the 4600 Bronco race trucks –– an epic tell-your-kids-about-it story and post-it-on-social picture. And for ’22 and ’23 alike, the drivers came through Bronco Basecamp to meet with the Nation fresh off winning their class.
Last year, we even got to invite the Bronco community to drive a portion of the actual course with three-time KOH winner Jason Scherer. You never know what new special activities may spring up in 2024!
The Drives
Bronco Knoll and Bronco Sport Summit are a short distance from the lakebed, and whether Off-Roadeo trail guides are taking you there or you’re setting off to see the landmarks on your own, these are a must-do for enthusiasts at least once in your life.
Plus, there are tons of other areas to explore: beautiful canyon trails, flat lakebed for racing and donuts, and Joshua tree-lined roads on the way to ghost towns. Not to mention, night drives led by racing legends and some intense rock crawling for the eager. All of it makes for great memories, and just talking about it with you makes us ready to get back.
The Dates
Mark down January 18-February 3 (with a focus on February 1-3 for the 4WP Every Man Challenge and Nitto Race of Kings viewing) for King of the Hammers 2024. You’ll get room to ride, see Bronco self-expression in a bunch of owner and sponsored builds, and feel all the hubbub that comes with a large-scale desert event!
