There’s been so much buzz about the Ford Bronco Filson since it was unveiled amongst the Wenatchee National Forest in Washington state this past June, and Tuesday night we took the buzz further with a LIVE webinar with the team that made it happen. This exclusive webinar gave Bronco Nation Premium members a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of the Bronco Filson, and we were glad to be able to share this experience with Premium members from coast to coast.
Moderated by Laura of Bronco Nation, the Bronco Filson webinar was an hour-long conversation all about this latest collaboration between Ford Motor Company and Seattle-based Filson. Laura was joined by two members from each partner team:
Ford Motor Company:
- Haley Skiko – Bronco Marketing and Brand Manager
- Justin Carroll — Chief Engineer for the Bronco Filson
Filson:
- Neil Morgan – VP of Sales and Brand Partnerships
- Kristen Beccera — Marketing Director

“I was so impressed with the amount of collaboration — true collaboration — between the Ford and Filson teams,” said Kristen Beccera, Filson Marketing Director. “Just really honoring of the brand aesthetics on both sides and wanting to make a really authentic vehicle to both brands. That is what we accomplished for sure.”
That about sums up this unique partnership between Ford and Filson, and it was evident during this hour-long conversation. Fielding member questions submitted in the Bronco Nation forum and others posted live during the webinar, the panel covered a wide range of topics about the Bronco Filson. They talked about everything from the color palette and ventilated front seats to the quiet cabin, design choices, and key engineering and technology decisions that ensure the vehicle “brings something to market that gives those that have wanted the capability to feel confident off-road and go into extreme terrains…but do it in premium feel and style.”
This partnership between Ford and Filson is not new.
It’s actually been in the works for many years, since the teams first came together to create the Wildland Fire RIg, built to help with the National Forest Foundation and those that are on the front lines doing outdoor work. “Neil has been here since the beginning, 2019, 2020, when we really came together,” said Haley Skiko, Bronco Marketing and Brand Manager. “And it came to a point where we realized, how can we make this a win for both of us — in really serving our core customers while also tailoring to those that love premium quality goods?”
Haley emphasized the awesomeness of these two authentic American brands — each crafted in so much heritage, love for their customers, and all built around craftsmanship, durability, and capability — coming together to deliver great products and give people a great experience in the outdoors.
“We have all of the hardware capability components and true off-road capability, but this was all of us working together with Filson side-by-side, from the engineering, design, and execution departments,” she said. “So we took the Bronco DNA you know and love today and paired it with Filson inspiration for a true premium overall exterior and interior styling, to make Bronco Filson come to life.”
“If Filson was a vehicle, we'd be a Bronco.”
Neil Morgan, VP of Sales and Brand Partnerships at Filson, echoed Haley’s comments and reinforced that this has been a very collaborative process from the beginning, “Filson didn't just sign up to put our logo on something,” he said. “The Ford team has been gracious to bring us into the studio to work together and I'll be honest – when a few of us went to Dearborn to first see the prototype, everyone's jaws dropped, eyes wide open. It was the embodiment of what we'd say a Filson vehicle should look like. “
Haley described the Bronco Filson, which comes standard with the Sasquatch package, as a one-stop shop. With so many standard features like the trailer tow package, roof rails, digital rear view mirror, ventilated seats, heated rear seats, and more — colors are one of the main options you’ll have to consider. “The only other optional piece that's critical to note is those cargo bags that are in the sport tubes in the back,” said Haley. “They're optional on all spaces that Filson exists, but they will only come standard with the First Edition package.”
The First Edition Package
To commemorate this special collaboration, Ford will be offering limited quantities of a Bronco Filson First Edition, which will only be available for 2027 model year.
- Only package available in exclusive Iron Sands Copper Metallic
- Includes (standard) cargo storage bags
- Features serialized center console badge which will say First Edition
- Comes with a Bronco Filson blanket (delivered post-purchase)
During the webinar, many questions were asked on a range of topics. Here a few that were asked by multiple members, with responses from Haley and Justin Carroll, Chief Engineer for the Bronco Filson.
Is a deposit required to order the Bronco Filson?
Haley: No a deposit is not required, though this will vary by dealer. “It's really more contact your dealer,” said Haley. “So some are making wait lists, and some are taking deposits. That's their own decision. Orders will come in just as if it was a Badlands or an Outer Banks.”
Will the Filson have the front stabilizer bar disconnect?
Justin: “The Filson will not be offered with the front stabilizer bar disconnect. In the weighing of pros and cons for this sort of vehicle, we’re really looking at, are we trying to go rival things like the ultimate Badlands and the Raptor, versus trying to come up with a balance of weight and other features. But while the stabilizer bar disconnect is not included or optional, you have that Hoss 3.0 system that is going to get you through 99% of the situations you want to get through.”
Is this the same Hoss 3.0 that we've experienced for the last couple of years? With the same shocks?
Justin: “Yes. The Hoss 3.0 is a fantastic system, really glad we got it into the Filson unit. The extra benefit to that, that we didn't really design it for up-front, is that that is the most comfortable on-road system as well. The 3.0 gives a really good on-road feel and then you can quickly turn that into off-road capability.”
Will paddle shifters be available?
Justin: “No, the paddle shifters will stay on the Raptor variant.”
Will it be a Ford Sync4 system or other digital experience?
Justin: “It will be Sync4.”
Is there underbody protection as an option?
Justin: “Yes, the underbody armor is available on all Filsons. Weighing the pros and cons, some people do not want the added weight of the underbody protection. However, if you do see yourself getting into those situations, it’s an option.”
Will the Filson rear bags be available to non-Filson Bronco owners?
Haley: “Sadly, no. We want to really keep it special to Bronco Filson. It's one of the reasons that we curated it on the vehicle to have that special touch. We obviously cannot monitor what people decide to do after market or after they take possession of vehicle, but we want to keep that one special to that brand and the brand collaboration.”
What colors are in the Filson lineup?
Haley: “With so much standard, color is one of the biggest things that you'll have to choose getting your own Bronco Filson. Available colors include Marsh Gray, Avalanche Gray, Desert Sand, Shadow Black, and Oxford White, and the Bronco Filson exclusive Field Green Metallic. And then there is Iron Sands Copper Metallic, which is available on the First Edition only.

Filson's Time-Tested Outdoor Gear And Style.
To say people are excited to add some Bronco Filson merch to their wardrobe would be an understatement. “For anyone unfamiliar, we have been building product, apparel and gear for people who live and work in the outdoors for nearly 130 years,” said Kristen. “And all of that know-how, all of that passion went into this collaboration. And we truly stand behind what was said before — that these vehicles are made to use and do that in a really comfortable way, just like our gear. I heard a really awesome statement earlier today: well-built and well-loved. That's how we think about our products. That's how we feel about Ford. And that's what you're going to get with the Bronco Filson.”
Neil said the response to new Bronco Filson merch has been great. “The response and how quickly things have sold out has been amazing,” he said. He added that the momentum for these new items is building as the Bronco Filson becomes available, and that new items will become available throughout the vehicle launch… and will continue into the spring.
“We're definitely excited for the stuff that's coming in the spring. You guys can look forward to some really cool things that are coming in our spring launch, right around the time the vehicles are out there”, said Neil. If you want to shop Bronco Filson merch, go to filson.com, and keep checking back to see what items become available.
The Countdown is On: When and Where Can You Get The Bronco Filson?
“We're so excited because order banks actually open in just a few weeks, on October 13. We go live in mid-October and then they will start hitting dealer lots in early 2027,” said Haley. “The Bronco Filson will be available at dealerships, and you can go to one near you to get one of these awesome vehicles.”
Haley cautions, however, that quantities are limited for the Bronco Filson First Edition and it will be in high demand. “They are limited, and we do expect them to go pretty quick,” she said. “I think the biggest thing is you can only get it in 2027 model year. So we encourage you to contact your dealer and get your name on the list, and order your Bronco Filson the minute that we go live on 10/13.”
