At least management is owning the problem and attempting to do something about it--that is Job 1.

We'll see if anything changes, its not just management at fault, the assembly workers are to blame for some of the issues. The best design and engineering is useless if the parts aren't assembled correctly or missing parts or outright sabotaged.

My father proudly worked for GM in their Lansing-area plants for over 30 years. The stories that he told me about workers sleeping on the job, ignoring issues, and in other cases just a lack of pride in one's work, were sad to hear. In most, if not all, cases it came down to the unions -- when it's almost impossible to get fired you're probably not going to do your very best.

My hope is that those assembling the Broncos understand that the world is looking at them, and work their hardest to produce the best product that they can.

I quit buying ford vehicle about 25 years ago, until the releas of the bronco. The quality is #1 has been an issue for years. For many years I worked in career where I had company provided vehicles. I found the ford vehicles provided to be very sub par. Junky, flimsy interiors and constant mechanical issues.

The bad ones always make it hard on the good ones.
The slug we let go for various reasons wanted to go to a union shop so he couldn't get fired!

Same.

It's hard not to compare what I saw in the build of my 2015 Volvo with the Bronco (make no mistake, I love my Bronco). I know it's two separate monsters on so many levels, but still it felt let people (engineers, managers, line workers, programmers, etc.), gave a real damn and thought the whole thing through. it's not a feeling the shines through every aspect of the Bronco.

Eliminate the American auto unions and you'll start to see the same level of commitment in US factories.

Unions or not, it still boils down to having pride and taking ownership of your work. You're either a craftsman or not. The threat of unions or job security shouldn't even play into it. It's inherent in your blood, or it isn't.

Totally agree with you Mikey D and would take it a step further….it’s quality of work and content of character. Both of which are seemingly lacking these days.

The culture has to change for the better, without a doubt, but as others have said, having a sound work ethic and pride in achievement goes a long, long way. The folks I work with in production are pretty dedicated and hard-working, but there are also the ones that I cannot stand, who take longer and more frequent breaks than others or spend more time looking at their phones than focusing on the task at hand. It's disheartening for others, who put in a good day's work.
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

Well this thread is fun.

People stopped caring because literally all the benefits our grandfathers had are gone.
Pension, gone.
Healthcare, gone.
Cost of living, thru the roof.

But yeah, keep blaming the damn unions lmao.

Thats no excuse to do a poor job, if you don't like it leave. There are plenty of degree holders that would like a job that you need no education or skill but get paid much more than jobs that require a degree.

If Unions took an active role in managing the quality of their workers, they would have an easier time negotiating higher pay and benefits.

I've seen the opposite. Well some internal materials were cheap but heck they weren't building the vehicles with tax payer dollars like GM and Dodge. I've always known Fords to be very reliable even when many people don't even do basic maintenance like oil changes.

I never wish someone to be unemployed, but this is long overdue and he's got plenty of $ that he earned being a glorified vehicle tester/fun haver/online troll.
