Interesting idea. I just hope they don't ruin the name with over-saturation

Seen an article on MSN. com yesterday about Bronco and Mustang becoming sub-brands of Ford. This could become very interesting with a whole Bronco lineup beyond what we already know about!! Any thoughts or insights on this??

yup, ford has stated this a few times in the last few years. The only thing likely to be 'Ford' are the trucks and vans and basic SUV lineup. the Mustang will have at least 2 models (mustang and Mach E) likely more eventually, and Bronco we know of 3 already, possibly 5

Yep. They are creating "heritage" brands (I don't remember the exact term I read a while ago, but it was something like that) under the Mustang and Bronco names.

They have vehicles that are part of the Icon group, Mustang, Bronco etc. If I recall, GT is also part of this group.

Icon, that's the word I was looking for. And the GT was the 3rd car I was looking for. Need more coffee.

Bronco truck is actually an idea? I know about the Maverick but haven't seen any info on the Bronco truck yet! Might not be too interested though, don't particularly care for the looks of the Gladiator.

I don't like the gladiator that came out. but if they made it like this, I'd have a hard time not getting one.

just for the sake of saving the gladiator from humiliation, they need to offer a stock 2dr 37" tire gladiator within the next couple of years. that'll save the gladiator from the humiliation it is suffering from at the moment, especially with our Bronco coming out. And hopefully ford will offer a 2dr SWB bronco truck/halfcab that has or is capable without lift of 37s within a few year

sales of the gladiator are lackluster but I believe the price has a lot to do with that.
Maverick (bronco sport truck) will be our next year most likely.

where the bronco truck will be out with the new ranger as well as raptor variants for bronco, truck and ranger the fallowing year

You mean like renaming the escape and putting the Bronco name all over it? When I traded in my 09 Escape for a 12 Escape I had the choice between the 12 and the 13 and don't get me wrong the 13 had a lot of advances and drove better and got better fuel economy but it just wasn't an escape anymore.

I still miss the CJ8 I had back in the early Aughts. That was a great trail rig.... I thought they put the length in the jeep wheelbase in the wrong place.

Hasn't the Bronco ALWAYS been a sub brand to those of us that are enthusiasts?

Just purchased a truck for work/home projects. If that would have been available it would have been the truck. Since I just wanted a 2 door (extended cab) went with an entry level Tacoma. While I love my JL Rubicon just not a big fan of the 4 door Gladiator.

I really can't see a sub brand for Mustang but Bronco is going to be marketed that way from Ford meetings I've attended. I was concerned we may even have to have a new franchise agreement for Bronco but not been brought up. Was a seperate agreement for Mach E but we had to make an investment of several thousand for charging equipment, special tools, ect. Both of these vehicles are also coming out with a new online ordering system. Mach E is already up.

I think it shows desperation. Why use the Mustang and ESPECIALLY MACH name on an SUV? If you make the SUV awesome you could name it Edsel and people would want it. Bronco, Bronco II, there was more than one model previously BUT in 4x4 configuration both units were respectable. Start using the Bronco name on NON off-road based units I think it tarnishes the image same as Mustang.

It kind of just feels like they will squeeze the dealers to invest in their dealerships. Buy a bunch of Bronco signage, get extra cars. Build an off road course get extra cars.

Was more "investment" signing up for all electric Mach E which was optional than Bronco. So far not even special tools needed, probably covered those with Ranger introduction.
