Anyone had any luck with a warranty on windshields? I just hit 550 miles and as I turned onto the road , I heard then instantly saw the crack and my speed was not even 35 yet! Seems like the windshield is not up to par! Let me know if anyone has had any luck. Thank you and be safe!

That sucks but, this isn’t a warranty thing - the same way a flat tire or paint scratch wouldn’t be covered as they are all inherent hazards of driving unless you have specific insurance coverage for these damages - sorry.

BTW - 35 MPH doesn’t feel fast behind the wheel but consider the impact of an object weighing just 3 ounces moving at the speed of 35 MPH which equates to +51 feet per second. The resulting force of almost 60 pounds onto a single point - that’s significant. If you consider that the object was already in motion (since it was in the air in order to hit your windshield) it could already be moving at 35 MPH toward you so the resulting force would be almost 120 pounds onto a very small area…

Many states including NY have glass coverage included in automobile insurance and all states offer it as an option. Good luck getting it fixed.

These, as do Jeeps, will be notoriously prone to broken windows due to the flat angle. I would suggest looking into glass protection film or Gorilla Glass. Heck here in Arizona, insurance companies have a glass replacement policy. It is really bad here. And that’s for all vehicles.

Gorilla Glass is a colossal waste of money. I have read many people with Jeeps and Gladiators who have ordered the GG upgrade, or got their insurance company to substitute, and they crack and chip just as easy as the regular glass.

Gorilla Glass is a bunch of hyped up nothing. I remember when the first started putting it on smart phones. It didn't help at all in preventing screen cracks.

So if you can put a screen protector on a phone, why can’t someonecome up with the same idea.
You heard it here, so a kick back would be nice

Nascar has been using peel away film on windshields for years for when dirt and oil build up. Not beyond reason that a film couldn't be made to resist chips and scratches.

Sorry, but its been around for awhile. Just not sure how long it lasts especially if you have to use your windshield wipers a lot.

There is a glass protection film already. I have many friends that have it. It works on fast cars, so I am willing to give it a try after this one gets replaced.

Is the Bronco windshield like the Jeep. Not much of a slant to it. If so get used to it. I have had many more chips, cracks, etc. on my Jeeps then all the other trucks combines over the last 40 years.

I don't have my Bronco yet but purchased the trail armor hood deflector to help lift debris and stones over windshield.

Lol! Yes I am. Lol I think I should just expand a bit. There does come a time when the integrity of an item, in this case, front protective windshield shows a trend of failing dramatically faster than than your other manufactured vehicles; the powers that be will definitely take notice when complaints pour in and spare parts pass a minimum threshold due to unforseen demand.
"(Possibly) " The fact that other vehicles with similar windscreen angles have a well established record of failing IS the warranty question. The glass in 2021/22 should, with all the tech and data we have available, be stronger. Just my opinion. I fixed it. I did not ask the dealer as time is too valuable to go that route. Just wanted to know if any had any info since there are seemingly so many cracked windshields already.

Enjoy the ride folks!

I broke more Jeep windshields by getting hit with the passenger seat. I learned to change it myself. Yeah that bad.

Won't work. I have it and the first chip happened from a rock coming from the other side of the highway at 2k and spreaded the next morning. Since then I got 2 other rocks that I heard hitting the car and are noticable but the entire windshield looks like it's been sanded and looks old. I waiting to change it until they clean the roads and apply some kind of additionnal protective layer..... This should be addressed and considered a manufacturer error
