Tire Cupping

Hey all!

I have a 2022 outerbanks 4 door (non-Sas). I have had it since march of 2022 and also put some Kenda Klever R/T (35 x 10.5) on it. I have put about 33k on it over that time. I stay up on my tire rotations, for I do it with every oil change. However, I did miss one rotation with an oil change. I have noticed that my tires have started cupping. Is anyone having issues with this at all? Ive read some things about suspension issues causing it. Am I not taking care of the tires properly to where this would happen? Is there a way to fix the cupping so that it isn't so loud?

Any info I can get to help would be appreciated!

Usually cupping is caused by worn suspension. Which you shouldn't have. Next is unbalanced tires. Last is, hate to say, poor tire design of the radial.

Are all the tires cupping? I'm not very familiar with that brand of tire but there seem to be some complaints online about cupping developing fairly early.

Yeah, if all cupping then basically a poor tire design. But don't take my word for it, just Google, "What causes tire cupping?"

My front tires have very minor cupping. My rear tires (which I just rotated so they were on the front) are very noticeable cupping. I can post a picture later to show the tires.

Cupping is typically a result of poor/improper balance. More specifically, inside tread cupping is typically associated with bad ball joints and outside is usually from under inflation.

The pictures don’t do it justice, but you can still sorta see the cupping. The first 4 photos are the rear tires (previously the front before the recent tire rotation) and the last two photos are the front tires

Looks more like over inflation.3rd pic shows middle tread blocks lower than outside.

Hard to see exactly what’s going on in the pics.

I just re-read your initial post @dburke0802 and see that you are running 35” tires on a non-Sasquatch Bronco.

Have you made any suspension modifications?
Are you using spacers?
What tire pressure are you running? Same for front an rear?

I dont have any suspension modifications and I'm not using spacers at all.

My tire pressure usually runs between 37-41 for all 4 tires. Just depends on the weather and how much I'm driving

I suspect your cause is overinflation. With 35s I get more even tire wear in the low 30s.
