2022 2-door Bronco my brake pedal feels spongy/soft as a matter of fact, I had a few instances where my foot on the brake went so low that it engaged the gas pedal ...not good. I want my brake pedal to be high and hard above the accelerator, Ford dealer said "no can do" The Bronco does not have a vacuum assist and will feel soft is what they told me. ....any of you guys have this problem or an understanding of what your brakes should feel like? ....thanks, Frank

Mine feels normal.
Sounds like you have air in the system, or a bad master cylinder.

that is what I thought but the Ford dealer said no that the brakes were good and acting as normal.

The brake should not sink to the floor under pressure. That implies a bad master cylinder.
When it does this, can you pump it up to normal height? That’s a clear indication that it’s not normal.
This is a safety issue - bring it up with the service manager, not any sales guy.

@Francis Czyz is this your only vehicle? What vehicle are you coming from.

I find that trucks have a long pedal travel.

2.3 or 2.7?
2.3 are vacuum assist and feel a little soft, IMO.

Agreed with @Shoresy

We have a 2.3 and the first couple months ours were soft. Having heavy 37s, heavy aftermarket bumpers etc. on a 4 door made it a "fun" stopping experience initially. However, over time that soft feeling either goes away after the brake pads finish setting from being used and/or you just get used to it.

We have a manual trans as well which helps slow ours down faster. Helps.

You can also turn on your auto emergency brake feature (i forget its technical name) in the nav screen AND if all else fails pull and HOLD the ebrake lever until fully stopped per your digital owners manual.

If you have a 2.3 wouldn't worry about it. Just be mindful when hitting brakes hard/abruptly at speed bc doing so could blow out the brake booster. After a year owning our bronco there have zero issues with brakes.

If you have a 2.7 engine and brakes are too soft you might want to get a second opinion from your dealer to be on the safe side.
