Hey all,
Hoping someone can help me here.
I have to replace my busted passenger side mirror and if I go through Ford and insurance it will cost me $500 minimum. I was searching on Amazon and I found new replacements that are $175 each. But these have the turn signals and the puddle light features as well. They say they are compatible with a 2022, but mine is just a base. So The question I have is: will these work on a base model? Are there hookups in the base for this kind of pin setup so that if I install both sides to match, I will be able to use the turn signals on the mirrors? These replacements also have BLIS but I don't have that in the base either so I'm assuming that will just stay non-functioning? The second question is, if I install these myself, how difficult is it and is it doable? Again, it's very pricey through Ford so I figured I could just pop these off. I'm kind of Handy LOL
Any info and help would be appreciated, thank you!

A couple of quick thoughts:
If you see a compatible mirror on the used market, grab it. More people have busted mirrors needing replacements than there are people who have an extra one.
There are plenty of YouTube videos out there to show you how to do it. Remember these guys have done it quite a few times and can edit out the sticky points where something went wrong on their demonstration, so if the YouTube "expert" did it in 15 minutes, it will take you two hours and 15 minutes.
You're smart to pay attention to which model and trim levels your working with. It gets awfully complicated.

I bought the SUMA convex mirrors (which eliminate blind spots quite well), with the in-the-mirror turnsignal. I have a Ford tech I hire on his own time. The first part of the install was fairly simple: 1) he popped the mirror glass off (my Lux level has heater, motor, puddle light and BLIS. I was adding turn signal). He then disassembled the pivot-arm (quite simple, check YouTube). He ran a wire (make sure you get the right gauge) through the mirror arm, into the door. There are pop-out coverings in the door and inside the door frame, he ran the wire through those into the engine bay, where he located the wire (that was complicated, but he knows his way around) to each front turn signal, left and right, which he then connected, soldered, and covered with heated shrinkwrap sleeve.

It was actually fairly easy, skill-wise, --but not very simple running the wire from the mirror to the turn signal circuit. And he has, on his laptop, the codes and colors to identify the turn-signal wire.

Lots of on-line retails have "Choose your vehicle" selection fields, even on Amazon (like Mabbet Marketplace), so that woks in your favor.

Hey! Thanks so much for the informative reply! I'll look into the members marketplace, I actually forgot about that😁
I haven't found any specific mirror replacement vids on YouTube yet, but I'll keep refining my search. Thanks again this helps!
