Hello all,

My bronco is a month old and we had a hard rain this morning. Got in my truck to go to work and everything was normal and dry. I put the truck into drive and as I accelerated a small bit of water came down on me from above the left corner of the AUX switches. It was a small amount but I’ve never had that happen before. I checked the top and made sure it was secured and on correctly and it appears so. Has anyone else had this happen?

There have been several previous threads with this issue. Make an appointment with your dealership. They have a service bulletin regarding it. I would try removing the front panels, wiping down the seals and applying a little bit of silicone gasket lubricant. Then reinstall and check again for leaks. If you still have a leak, make the appointment. Good luck and keep us posted.

We haven't had any rain in 3 weeks here but mine did not leak today when I washed it for the first time and I made sure to spray it pretty good. Your story is making me have flashbacks of T-Top troubles back in the 70/80's :(

On a similar note , Ford engineers make some questionable calls. I noticed the grommet for the 3rd brake light seems to be mounted upside down from what logic says you should think it would be. It seems that with age and the tape unravels , we are going to have a funnel into the rear tailgate..

Nah I just use the one for the rubber O rings on my pool. Just a tube of the plumbers stuff.

Would you put the gasket lube around each bolt up there?

After I clean off the gasket, I just put some on my fingertips and spread a little on the gasket surface. Keeps the gaskets soft and flexible. It could be a slight alignment issue or it could need to be replaced.

Mine leaked yesterday in the carwash. However, it came from near the 3 way connection in the middle above the arm rest. I also noticed my passenger front window track has a tear in the rubber.

That’s where mine leaked. I removed the panels cleaned and put some gasket lube on there and have had no issues
