Plastic Bumper Pieces

Had an awesome day of off-roading yesterday. We came across the opportunity to forge 27 inches of water (and ice), up to the top of the wheel well on my non-sas Badlands. This is by far the most water I have ever driven through but the Bronco performed better than I had expected. However, I did do some damage to the front bumper. You can see in the picture that the plastic pieces around the tow hooks broke apart and I lost the cover to my front collision sensor and damage to a few of the vent blades just in front of the radiator. I assume the ice is what caused the damage but could it have just been the force of the water? Either way, I am sure I will encounter this situation again in the future and I feel like I wasn't doing anything that the Bronco cannot handle. I don't like that there is so much plastic on an otherwise metal bumpter. Anyway, since I have the lux package, I would rather not replace my bumper so I will likely just purchase the plastic pieces to fix it. Has anyone found a good solution to prevent damage like this?

mine look the same. i've been thinking of ditching the plastic altogether and painting the bolt heads black. cheap and quick. if i replace them they'll just get blown out again
