I surrender

As I embarked on my journey with my brand-new Bronco, fresh off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan, I was filled with immense excitement and anticipation. Although I was one of the unfortunate ones to encounter some issues, I chose to view them as opportunities for growth and improvement. The problems I faced, including a leaky front differential, unexplained coolant loss, reverse camera failure, hood latch sensor failure, and roof panel misalignment, were mostly resolvable, and I was more than willing to work through them. However, the persistent challenge I faced for 22 of the 28 months I owned my dream car was the recurring failures of the screen, radio, and USB. Despite the dealerships' best efforts, including replacing the APIM twice and attempting to reprogram it, the issue persisted. I was assured that Ford was diligently working on a software fix, but as the days turned into months, my patience began to wane. Tomorrow, I will be surrendering my vehicle to the dealer under the lemon law, marking the end of a chapter. As I embark on this new journey, I am filled with a sense of hope and optimism, knowing that every setback is an opportunity for growth. I am grateful for the connections I made along the way, and I wish everyone in the Bronco Nation all the best on their adventures. Who knows what the future holds? Perhaps our paths will cross again, and we can share more stories of perseverance and triumph.

Take care,
Bronco Fred

Hopefully you get the vehicle of your dreams with minimal to zero issues. Have any idea on which model is next? Too bad the Bronco didnā€™t pony up.

Thanks Ron. I really don't have any ideas! Every time I start looking I just donā€™t have the interest like I did with the Bronco. Itā€™s a shame.

Too bad Ford can't get a handle on their problems.

I turned 70K on the Odo of my 2022 Basesquatch 2 door this weekend.
My issues/complaints; Stripped trim screw from the factory, steering rack knocking at 30K (warranty replacement), interior trim plastic is soft as butter, "weathertech" type floor mats are soft and thin, wore a hole through the driver's mat before 30K. Only recall that has effected me is the rear shocks. Mine are still good but waiting for my replacements.
Loving my Bronco.

Sorry to hear about your experience @BroncoFred and good luck with your next vehicle.

I have owned 3 Broncos and havenā€™t had major issues with any of them. You clearly got a dud and perhaps you want to roll the bones & try another oneā€¦

Allow me a weak analogy: you admired a girl, courted her, and married her. Strangely and unexpectedly, she turned out to be a psychological and marital disaster. Hey, these things do happen. I'd counsel you to reconsider marriage again, but take your time and consider your next prospect much more closely.

In other words, do consider another Bronco. And it seems you have a responsible dealer to work with again.

I would also consider another bronco. We've had two with zero issues. Unfortunately things like you describe happen, and many consumers of other products have similar stories online. It can happen with anything. My buddy is currently going thru hell with gm and on his third transmission in an HD truck in less than 30k. It still wouldn't stop me from buying a gm HD. Stuff happens, unfortunately this time it happened to you. But all in all I do think the bronco is an amazing vehicle that offers many things others don't. Not to mention it's still a pretty new design and they're working out kinks all the time.

Good luck with whatever you do.

It's not just Ford, or the Bronco, with QC issues, it's every manufacturer out there these days. Be it vehicles, parts, whatever. Prices go up and quality does down.

@BroncoFred, are you even considering another Bronco? Sounds like you just got unlucky but I will say, the APIM modules are absolutely trash!

I've wanted a Bronco ever since I saw my 1st one, an OG 1st gen, back in the mid 80's. I was young and broke at the time and the used 1st gen Broncos cost an arm and a leg back then because they had been discontinued.

I was not a fan of the Bronco designs that followed the 1st gen's so I became a Jeep guy. When the 6th gen came out, I knew I had to have one.

I honestly think that if mine were a lemon, it's not as I've had zero issues other than the crappy APIM's, I would buy another without 2nd thought..

The Bronco 1st gen is hands down my favorite vehicle design of all time.. When I hit the lottery, I am buying a 1st gen! After it, I love the 6th gen look and design, especially the 2dr..

Good luck whatever you decide and I hope your next vehicle is rock solid!
