Several weeks ago, I installed the Ford Performance steering rack upgrade. I already had the Engine Tune, so the programming box was in hand, and I had both stock and tuned performance saved in its memory. After the rack install, I could not get the Bronco to accept the code I had for the rack, nor could I download the software to my tuning box, also from Ford. I took it to my local Ford dealer, and $600 later, they could not do it either. Since then, I have been with Ford Performance, trying this, that, or the other that. Nothing has worked.

I leave for the Trans America Trail in two weeks, which I planned to blog about here, so my time is almost up! Does anyone else have this issue and have a fix? What happens if I align it and drive it this way until they fix it? Since the first two weeks are Route 66 to CA, then another few days up the CA coast to the jump-off point.

This is a trip I have planned for years, and in fact bought the Bronco for. HELP!!!

That's a terrible idea, when do we start?

I had the opposite problem. I bought the Ford Performance Rack, as well as the Tune. I had it installed by my local Ford dealer. they installed the rack first, and everything went well. Then when they went to install the Tune, they couldn't. they went back and forth with Ford Performance for a while on that, and finally were able to get the Tune to "take".
