Heat to AC switch over problem

I switching from heat to AC this morning and while the driver side did switch over to AC, the passenger side stayed on heat. I couldn't get it to switch over no matter what I did (change passenger zone, set setpoint from hi to low, fan speed, on/off shut/open vents, etc etc.
Only when I shut off the truck and restarted did the passenger side switch over to AC.

My first item added for warranty, just wanted to bring it to the group in case someone has had the issue.

Times like this make me appreciate owning a Base.
None of that fancy dual zones stuff ;)

Sorry to hear about it, hopefully it's a quick fix!

I’m still using heat only here in Minnesota. This what I woke up to this morning.

Is your defroster on? Some cars use the AC + heat mode to dry the air out

Hi there. This doesn't sound like an experience we want you to have with your Bronco. Could you please send us a PM with your VIN and the name and location of your Ford dealer? I'd be happy to look into how I can assist you with this AC concern on my end.

You didn't mention how you experienced this issue. When you said " the passenger side stayed on heat. " what did you mean?
Did the temperature control on the dash not allow you to change the setpoint? Or were you able to change the setpoint yet the vent still was outputting heat?

Dual Zone HVAC works through a series of doors that route air over the a/c evaporator core, heater core, or some combination of both. So the question is often related to is it the control system, not getting the message to give you cool air. Or is the system getting the message but unable to articulate the doors as needed to give the proper temperature.
