Ford has dropped the ball. Not impressed 100k Bronco Raptor can't be fixed.

Ford can't support the Bronco Raptor. Not good.

My CV axel inner boot has come off and grease is everywhere. We managed to get the boot temporarily on to drive home but that is it.

Two different mechanics looked at it and cannot understand how the boot twisted off. It should stay with the axel and not twist.

The CV axel is on National Back order with NO ETA. What? NO ETA? I would expect more from such a great vehicle.

Craziness… hope things work out well for you! One would think that spare parts would be sourced at the same time contract was made for entire assembly and spares would be manufactured/sent around same time frame… jmo.

Boot off

Above, boot temporarily on at the large end. Zip tied the small end and you can see the zip tie is off. Could't get the small clip back on. Small end doesn't seem to be an issue. We put more grease in for now and don't want to risk the boot coming off again so won't drive much, if at all.

How about they take one off of dealer stock some where and let theirs sit and wait for the part.

Dang - that sucks @Roughstock11
What were the conditions under which the CV failure occurred? And, how did you notice the problem (aside from a pile of grease under your rig)?

HELP @Ford Motor Company

There were no particular reasons I could see for the failure. I was under my truck looking at where the Foutz Motorsports skid plate was going to go and I noticed the boot was askew. There were no visible marks on the boot at all. I thought perhaps a branch or something. No marks on the boot. It was twisted and askew at the big end. My dealer looked at it and told me it was back ordered. I drove back to Arizona about 2400 miles with the boot askew but still on. I had no choice, I was coming home with the Raptor. I went to Foutz Motorsports to get some underbody protection and when we lifted the truck the boot was off and grease everywhere. I did put the vehicle into 4 wheel drive on a dirt road. That may have done it. I am not sure. Foutz has a their local Ford dealer close by and they ordered the part and here we are. You would never know about the grease unless you went under your vehicle. There is no noise and the vehicle drove perfectly. We put some more grease in it and affixed it as best as possible. Now just need a part.

Thanks for the HELP with Ford post.

Im sorry this has happend to you. supply chain issues are still a significant issue made much worse for the Bronco with the recent strike. Ford can and will fix your Bronco.
I know it sucks to not be able to use your Bronco. Have you asked if they can rereplace the boot? maybe that can get you back on the road.

This is not just a Ford problem. I'm in the trucking business and we can't parts for late model trucks either. We can't even get brand and model of tires that we normally run so we have to settle for what's available. I think you will find similar issues in a lot of things.

I will follow up about a boot. So far they have not wanted to touch the boot in case they made it worse. Now the boot has come off perhaps I could find someone who will look at it and replace the boot for now. Good idea. Thanks

The problem is that no matter what they say, when you go to order the parts they are always on back order. Keep us posted

yes, quite possibly. I was just thinking that. I will contact them Monday, you never know. I appreciate the effort. I think it may just be letting it go until it arrives. I guess I will have to get out on the bike more...

Bummer, dude. We are all hoping this works out for you... and soon. I can only imagine how frustrating this must be.

The silver lining is that you learned you could drive a very long distance with the boot askew and the grease payload gone. I can see why you wouldn't want to drive anywhere unnecessarily until the whole component can be replaced. Following this. I hope you can source the part quickly!
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.
