So I did my first oil change on my 2023 badlands and this is what I find. The pink coating on the O-rings is completely falling apart. These are the factory seals.
It's a good think the filter is on top because I might have to inspect these seals once in a while.

You replace the O-rings when you change the filter. The filter element should come with a package of O-rings. I fail to see a problem.

Mine were that way as well but as noted, you change them out with the filter.

Yeah this happens on all of the cartridge-style filters that I've encountered—they're considered to be single use.

As the others have mentioned, this is why new O-rings come included with the new filter. I've encountered several leaking canisters before... and it's almost always caused by worn out O-rings that weren't replaced, or O-rings that were nicked/gouged while being replaced.

It's just a paint/ink on the O-Ring... I feel like all is good.. but did you notice the difference in filter?

I use WIX filters. Found them to be of better quality. Wait for it....wait for it....
