This leak just started today. Haven't been on any trails and only have 350 miles on Bronco. The Bronco has been sitting in garage for a week or so, hasn't moved. It just started leaking out of nowhere.

Dealer service says it may be an "exhaust seep hole". I've never heard of an exhaust seep hole????? Looks like a defect of some kind. Opinions please.

It's a drain hole for condensation so the water won't sit in the muffler and rot it from the inside out.

Hi there! Would you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership name and location? I’d like to look into this concern on my end.

That is a normal exhaust drain hole. Water will drip from it on cold start, this is a normal condition, you will see more water dripping on cool damp mornings when there is water vapor coming out of the tail pipe. Water is a by-product of combustion, once things get hot in the exhaust the water is completely vaporized and doesn't condense into liquid.

The weird part, the car was sitting for a few days and the leak started without starting vehicle. I guess condensation could be sitting in exhaust system and just release when it gets to certain level within system.

Based on all the threads here, and on Bronco6G, it seems to be normal. I have another issue so I'm taking to dealer, but before I send you VIN and dealer info, could you please confirm on your end the hole is an engineered release point for normal moisture in the exhaust system? If it isn't, let me know and I will forward requested information. Please let me know either way. Thanks.(y)

There's a ton of info on muffler weep holes on Google, and other automotive related forums. Weep holes are not uncommon, as most muffler manufacturers now include some sort of drainage to prevent corrosion.

I sent a pic and text to dealer service rep. Does this supersede interaction with dealer? I'm a little confused on the process within the forum while simultaneously dealing with dealer service department??? Please clarify, thanks.

I think they poke the dealerships from their end to make sure they get on it. Keep doing what you are doing and hopefully Ford keeps them on their toes!

Key words in your post - "I think" and "hopefully". Maybe Ford should review their 6 Sigma Level processes, both in the production of automobiles, and how they integrate social media with dealer service. "I think" if they did that correctly then "hopefully" they would eliminate a ton of issues. 😉

Just curious how your muffler question would fit into Ford's 6 Sigma process? It's designed to have the weep hole (as others and multiple resources on the web have confirmed)--so it's not a defect.

My bad dude. Not specific to exhaust system, but general response to TK1215. Overall various issues and how Ford is interacting with this site while coordinating with dealers. Poke!
