Well, brand new 2023 Bronco with only 80 miles with the engine light on!
My app tells me it’s the exhaust emission sensor failure. So I’m already needing a service call. I hope it’s just a bad sensor and not any underlying issue….
Anyone had this problem?

Do you have a code reader to provide the specific DTC? This will provide significantly more insight to the issue and steps required for resolution.

Regardless, it’s covered under warranty (but still a PITA to deal with)

No code stated in app, I’m already at dealer service cause I told them it’s coming in today!
And yes it’s a shame the truck needs service. I just hope it’s not any underlying issue….

Please let us know what the verdict is. It might help others down the road (no pun intended).

I was told that it’s a heated sensor, so it’s going to take a few days to get the part. I don’t feel comfortable driving it so they gave me a loaner…I’m going home with a Ford escape. How exciting L O L.

Otherwise known as a HEGO. If you have the 2.3, there is one. With 2.7L, there are two of them, otherwise known as stereo HEGOS

Total of 2 or 2 per side? I thought the 2.7 has both upstream & downstream O2 sensors…

@Bronk - it will be an easy fix once the part arrives although I am a bit surprised it failed so soon.

My O2 sensor had to be replaced with less than 1k miles. It only took 2 days for pars to come in. I have the 2.7 and this was in Feb 2021. No issues since (knock on wood) and I am at 25k miles now.
Enjoy the Escape!

Two per "side". The software strategy compares the value before cat, to after cat. Usually the "before" one is most likely to "fail".
