Has anyone noticed or dealt with the sudden appearance of a deformity or "crack" presenting in the steering wheel airbag cover? I checked over at the Bronco6G site and there is a thread with several folks saying it has happened to them and some dealers indicating they have seen quite a few. So far it is being covered under warranty for customer satisfaction but we may have a recall brewing...

Oh Snaps... I've had that since (probably) day 1. Noticed on day 2, and always kind of looked at it like it makes my Bronco unique. Now that I know everyone else is getting it I guess I'll have to get it fixed. 😐

I have the critical eye from hell so I know I would have noticed it at delivery--then suddenly it appeared. We have only had the beast for a bit over a month and I have only tested the horn to be sure it worked so it is not an abuse thing. I kind of hinted to the wife that mayyybeee your wedding diamond could have, potentially, accidentally, scratched it...emphatic NO to that. Been scratching my head until I found the thread on Bronco6G and it's really odd that many of the pictures posted there look nearly identical to what ours is presenting. Some have said that it grows and can span the entire north/south of the face. I just hope that mama Ford has switched suppliers or corrected the stress issue or it is going to be an ongoing issue with replacements as well.

That might actually be the seam in the airbag cover. Where it is supposed to split upon the bag deploying. But it shouldn’t show

Yep that's what it is. Some folks have broken it honking the horn a little aggressively. Take it to the dealer and its a warranty replacement item.

Been there since day one. Noticed it first time behind wheel. I just accepted it as a molding flaw.

I just had the horn pad replaced in mine for the same thing. It got really cold again last week and the same "crack" appeared in the new horn pad. Exact same pattern, I'm sure it's where the pad splits when the airbag deploys. Super annoying, I'm going to wait a while to have this one replaced, hopefully the supplier improves the quality of the part.

Not a good report @A51E5B, I have not had mine replaced yet; I'm compiling a list of items I want addressed and hopefully have a once and done visit to the dealer.

Did the dealer give you any grief about getting this covered under warranty?

Mine was like this when I bought it. I thought it was a scratch until I saw the forums mentioning this a while back. Still trying to have this, cracked hardtop and another warranty issue addressed. None of these things effect the function but are irritating and I figure if I ignore them they'll become a function issue once the warranty expires.

I can almost see "something" in mine - and have for over a year. Then started reading that other people had cracks in theirs. So, when I get frustrated with the driver in front of me (which almost never happens - lol), I try to just use my thumb and push on the sides, where the pictures of the horns are.

Just saying this for anyone that hasn't gotten a crack or the start of a crack in theirs yet.
