Dealership says I need a new engine at 77k miles

I purchased a 2021 bronco 2.7l in 2021.
Had an ac issue that was fixed about a year ago but other than that not too many issues. I’ve kept up with oil changes pretty well.
About 3 weeks ago I noticed my oil temp was slightly elevated more than normal (245 degrees). Even though it was within the normal range according to the digital gauge - I got an oil change at a local shop and that seemed to have fixed the issue. About a week later I noticed the temps were elevating again (still in the normal range, just higher than I was used to seeing).
thought it was odd so I went in to the shop that gave me the oil change, and they told me the coolant was low and they thought I may have a coolant leak.
I scheduled a time to send my shop to the ford dealership where I bought the vehicle (where most of my maintenance had been done) and 5 days later, they told me the bottom of the radiator was leaking and that I would need a new engine.
I’m at 77k miles, this seems very abnormal.
Has anyone else had this issue? They are quoting $11,000 for the job. Not really sure what to do.
Feels extremely unfair considering I brought it in to get inspected at a time that I thought was preemptive. Again, the oil temp gauge was showing that it was well within the normal range- I just had a suspicion it was hotter than normal and brought it in to be inspected as soon as practicable.

Hi there. I’d like to assist with your concern. Could you please send us a DM with your VIN and mileage so I can look into this further?

Wait, a new engine for a radiator leaking from the bottom? You didn't overheat and keep driving it so I am confused. It could mean a blown head gasket but a new engine????

I am no mechanic but needing a new engine sounds very odd to me...

Is this one of the early engines that had the valve issues?

Official and officially useless.

While I have no doubts the majority of time not much is going to come out of it, but I know several instances where they have helped an individual out. There is only so much they can do.

Also, they officially left the other forum and I appreciate they are still here.

I equate them to "Jeep Cares' that are active on Jeep Forums.. I agree, they can be helpful in some instances but in many others there is not much they can do..

Here’s the thing. Ford corporate are bean counters. They will screw you over for a $10.00 issue. Unfortunately the dealership is stuck in the middle. I don‘t work for Ford or a dealership, but I am a stockholder. Under Farley’s leadership the brand has gone south, both in product breadth and quality. My wife’s Edge will be replaced with a Hyuandia or Kia, my Mustang probably an import. My 2024 Bronco….. who knows if Ford will get their act together when that is time to replace. Ford management doesn’t get it, don’t blame your dealer. Their stuck in the middle.

Richards67Br…. All of my Fords were new. My RS, my Mach-e, Edge, and Bronco. Ford corporate doesn’t understand the consumer experience. I have a Genesis also, trust me…. Hyuandi gets it…..

Unfortunately the dealership is stuck in the middle.

Sorry, but I have a very low opinion of dealerships.. Not just Ford, all of them! Ford builds the vehicles and then pays dealerships for their work done under warranty..

Dealerships are responsible for most of the bad experiences, complaints and issues that people have after purchase. Every manufacturer has recalls, every manufacturer has lemons etc...

People deal with independent dealerships, not Ford Corporate. Most dealerships, in my opinion, are shady, unethical and are flat out scam artists.. From the buying experience to service, most just flat out suck!

Sounds about right. Their level of help is along the lines of did you try putting gas in it or try turning it off and on again.
