We had our dealer install the official accessory trailer lights and hitch when we took delivery in December of 21, as it was easier to get the build scheduled without it. I only hooked it up for the first time to a trailer recently, and there's no signal when you hit the brakes. I tested it beyond just with the trailer hooked up and there's no signal at the test light when you apply the brakes. I pull the same one year old cargo trailer frequently with another vehicle and the brake lights work fine.
My wife had the Bronco checked at our dealer today and they said their diagnostic system told them the module was fine. Since it's over three years old they told her it would be a diagnostic charge of $180 to try again with a test light even though we bought the 7/70,000 bumper to bumper warranty since the kit was installed as aftermarket, ridiculous.
Anyone else with the dealer installed "Ford" hitch kit have this issue? Next step is I will test the brake line leading form teh converter which is what I know I should have done first then checked for any loose pin connections but since we had the warranty I was expecting to simply pay the $100 deductible and have the dealer correct it. Any help is appreciated.
