After about a month and 500 miles of driving, a couple of blocks from my house the coolant warning light came on. I'd only been driving the15 minutes from work. I drive the speed limit, which was 65. I baby this car because gas is expensive, and so are these tires. When I lifted the hood there was coolant everywhere and the reservoir was empty. Just called the dealership to discuss and schedule a drop-off time, and was not given much confidence in what is to come when the service rep asked if it happened when it was really hot outside (it was not, but it had been 110 degrees the week prior). As if this should have been anticipated in a brand new car just because the weather was hot! I check and top off the fluids in my vehicles regularly. I keep a close watch on my "fleet", but I did not check the Bronco yet with such low time and mileage. Should I be worried that they will pin the blame on me somehow, and how do I protect myself?

Did it overheat and boil over, or did you lose/rub through the hose? The hose detaching is a known issue.

I don't know. I just found out about the hose issue and I will have a look at it when I get home. I do not know if it overheated, but the engine didn't seem very hot when I lifted the hood and there was only a little bit of steam coming from the front passenger side of the engine when I stopped.

I think my interaction this morning is just the last straw with my local dealership. I think I need to have it towed further to a better dealer that isn't going to suggest that a brand new car overheated because the day might have been over-warm.

Last year there was an issue with the belt rubbing holes in the hose. It was all over the message boards. That was the 1st thing I looked for when I took delivery.

Hey there! I can look into your Bronco’s coolant concerns on my end if you’d like. Will you send us a private message with your VIN and dealership info?
