Hi everyone, I’m new here. :-) I have a question to see if anyone has been through what I’m going through.
I just bought a Bronco Big Bend, 2024.
I love my car so much but I’m noticing an issue. I’ve had my car for a few weeks and live in the mountains. We are having our first really cold weather in these last few days. When I drive in this cold weather I am noticing an extreme amount of cold air coming into the car from the drivers side. My left foot and leg are freezing!! I tried to see where the cold air could be coming from but I can’t figure it out! I have to blast the heater, and it somewhat warms my left leg but then the cabin gets so hot. I’ll turn off the heater and still, I feel the extreme cold air entering and my leg and foot are freezing. I’m really disappointed. I called the dealer and I can’t get an apt until the middle of February! Has anyone had this issue and been able to fix it themselves. We’re about to get colder weather and i would like to be comfortable when I drive. I’ve never experienced this before, thank you to whoever is reading this.

It is sad. I’m hoping it’s something I can fix.

Right off the top I would check, if you haven’t done so, the split control between high, mid and feet on the air flow . Secondly, right above your feet, under the dash, is a removable rubber grommet. If it wasn’t installed correctly or has fallen out that could cause air to come in from the outside. Good luck and keep us posted

good call @TK1215 - likely the grommet.

@Mooxie the grommet is just above the dead pedal and is about the size of a silver dollar. It’s thick black rubber and if it’s missing it will be obvious however, the easiest way to check would be in a well lit garage with the hood open and looking from the driver’s floorboard forward, you will see the light coming through…

Just to Clarify unless your bronco has had some electrical additions you will not have that red wire passing through the grommet. But that was the first thing I thought of when the OP described where the cold was coming from.
Note the two tabs side (of the grommet) is in inside the engine compartment and the smooth side in on the interior of the vehicle. it is easier to install it if you push it through from inside the vehicle.

@Jacob I agree with all of your statements. I keep thinking I may have put the grommet in backwards. I have had a slight whistling coming from under the dash since I installed my interior lights. Can you please confirm mine isn’t backwards!

That looks correct to me. maybe need to pop it out and reseat it. I see you ran your wire near the bottom. I ran mine near the top of the grommet to make sure I don't get any water in if I am fording 36.4" of water. LOL
