Hi-troubleshooting the errors in the attached pic.
Seems like a connection issue that caused the reduced power/powertrain malfunction/trail fault error.

First happened after starting;in drive and turning GOATknob to.Eco.

Got the error and a low whine/grind noise.
Stopped shut off and was fine.
Happened again a few days later same startup and turn to Eco. Had to drive home in 4H to avoid any mechanical damage further.

Could be a loose connection that caused? Will start looking at wheel connections for 4wd, transfer case, module….ugh. Love the timing Ford.

I’m narrowing the issue to actuator/awd because. In 4h drives ok. No whining or resistance when accelerating indicating 4h direct transfer avoids the actuator. Not sure why it failed.Yet.

After running new scans with a Ford Code reader-OBDlink Ex-got attached new fresh codes.

From what ChatGpt could find-there are 2 Technical Service Bulletins for my symptoms and codes:

22-2180
21-2313

Recommends to apply updated software and reflash. Still not clear on why other than the eco setting tickling the various modules into. Various overload states. Once applied will rescan and then go from there. I’d obviously be happy with some updates fixing this but it worries me this has happened at this point in our relationship lol.

Ok, so how can you assist? After many hours diagnosing the entire electrical system with my multi-meter: no faults found.

I have no doubt the eco mode co tributes to this failure resulting in needing to replace the clutch actuator, shift motor and reprogram.

Please contact me directly to discuss how you can assist.

In one week that Bronco will be fixed and no longer mine as this is not what I want with a vehicle I’ve had for 6k miles.

Ford-VIN-yes-I will send it again to you.

UpdateI sent toFord minushow much I paid cash for it:

Day 12 of Bronco Down….

…….decided today that I need your and the dealers help. So, before I started replacing the fainted components-I took it to Haverhill Autofair Ford where I bought.

I spoke with sales manager and Tom the service tech. I told them when I dropped it off what the issue was but I do not know why. Other than the component just deciding to fail??

I received a message that the recommended service was a new battery, TSB’s, and reflash…$750.
Then, I received a message that the clutch actuator needs replacing at $1032.

So, here we are.

For those of you who read posts please get a scanner like OBDLink Ex, MX+, BlueDriver…I am not partial unless they want to sponsor me (lol)…but from my experience they all work well enough to identify an issue like a car tech. The why and how and those types of pieces of information not as useful but for pure data needs (moi)…it’s a computer so treat it like one and you’ll at least be in sync with your dealers tech analysis.
Less than 100 bucks.

Anyway-figured since there was so little info avail here it is…

Dealer is also putting in for Ford Assistance.
I suggested this is Eco mode related and to also check the connection harnessto thetransfer case clutch actuator…very not tight and open to lots of debris and water susceptible-should have a cover ormore weather protection in my opinion andwasgritty when disconnected.

On the bright side-really-almost no information available on this issue in the 1st edition OuterBanks Bronco. That’s a good thing. Just wish it had been made a recall because it’s going to cost more than it should and for it to catastrophically fail to the point of possible causing severe drivetrain issues like gears and transmissions and axle shafts…that’ll be next.
Anyway-seems like a good thing that no one else experienced and I did want that side of it also pointed out even though I’m not happy.

Spoke with Kierra (Ford Co) yesterday and today. She has been able to work with the dealer directly and gave me good news that the clutch actuator failure will be covered under warranty. That is great news. And, that the battery issue they will try and assist.
Thank you.
Need to recognize this and it does give me some confidenceto maintainloyalty.

Bronco was picked up today.
After a broken speed sensor had to be replaced and bored out while repairing actuator; and replaced battery; it drives like a different vehicle-more power than ever before.
The GOAT modes actually change the RPM and power. Previously; only ECO mode was noticeably different. I can feel the power in sport and even Not Al compared to ECO mode which summarizes that something was off/latent issue that either the battery or an issue with the Knob or it’s communications ultimately caused the failure. Not ECO mode modulation. But it probably contributed to the slow failure in some way.
Ford has been helpful-Kiera-and called me multiple times to ensure total satisfaction.
Ford also covered the failure fixes and helped on the battery.
Going to drive it a bit and monitor. Today is a better day.
