Burning electrical odor

Last Sunday (8/6/2023) I took my Bronco to the carwash. I was signing up for a membership. I was sitting in my Bronco, with the window down. I noticed a rubbery burning odor. The person assisting me didn't smell anything. I didn't think much of it, as there were other cars, carwash equipment, busy area.

When I was cleaning my wheels, I noticed the same odor by my Left front (driver's side) tire.

When I got home & popped the hood & had my husband look at it. We could not find the source, although he thinks it could be from the fuse box.

Took to the dealership where I have service performed. They have had it since Tues (8/8/23) So far no word on if they have looked at it, or found the problem. I am not sure if it has even moved. If so it has been less than 1 mile. I am checking the status of my Ford pass daily.

I've noticed a similar thing since new but everything looks and works as it should and gauges are good. I started using normal G.O.A.T. mode and barely notice it now. I was noticing this more when I used only eco mode especially on long drives. I will be interested to see what you find out.

This was a fairly short drive with idling for 5 min? 3-4 miles tops. I generally use normal mode, or slippery. I only dog eco mode on very long drives- not often. (have not had time to go off roading yet). I accepted delivery in Dec 2022. This is the first time this has happened. Called the dealership today--so far I have been ghosted. I will let everyone know what happens.

My husband found on the Bronco 6G forum someone who had a similar issues. It could not be isolated, so they changed the whole fuse box.

The dealership ghosting is becoming too common.

Hi there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

Update. Sorry its been a while. So my Bronco did not move at the dealership until Weds-- 1 week AFTER it was dropped off. I called & left a message for an update, online chat & txted my service rep before I got an answer. Ford reached out to my husband getting info from Bronco6G forum. Ford emailed us that nothing was found BEFORE the dealership reached out to us. They said all the detected was an odor from the clutch. OK-- but I know what I smelt. Too bad I can't some how record odors.

@Bukansa I had similar issue happen and my truck is back at the dealership. I have a 2023 Badlands, manual transmission. Couple weeks ago I had only been driving for about 20 minutes and was in drive thru line when all of a sudden I smelled something burning (like a rubbery or electrical smell), the brake and clutch depressed all the way to the floor, couldn't shift gears, car shut off, and everything went haywire. Anyway, get it to dealer they say it was a seal leaking on rear differential, etc. And they fixed it. I picked up the truck and still smelled that burning but not as bad. Anyway, took it back today and they're saying the clutch needs to be replaced. I just bought it in April and hardly driven it in the city and it's mainly highway miles. Would love to hear what they tell you.
