Bronco arrived at the dealership and had to be put in the shop before I could even take it around the block.

Got shipped out without any fluid in the front differentials and somewhere in the 30 miles that they used to test and drive it, they shredded it and it needs to be replaced with no ETA and Fords being completely unconcerned with them shipping a lemon to me.

There's no resolution to add as of yet.

Sorry you had to go thru this experience. I guess Ford MoCo is so in overdrive to build vehicles that they're flying by the "Quality is Job 1" inspection lane back in Dearborn. What's your dealership done to try and remedy this bad experience?

Oh that is sad. But it is not really a lemon there are quite a few things that has to happen to make it a lemon. Believe me ford does not want it to go that route. Unfortunately parts are probably going to take a little while to get but if they fix you up right it will be good as new… errr new as new. Hope it works out for you.

That is sad! Have you tried calling the Bronco Hotline at @Ford Motor Company? That might help light a fire under the dealer.

Bummer, dude. This sounds like a factory warranty issue. Why isn't Ford "concerned" with it? Was this issue discovered by you post-delivery or by the dealer while they were performing the PDI? Is the dealer blaming you for this? I've got nothing short of a million questions.

Regardless, it's a sad turn of events on what should be a joyous occasion. :(

The dealer called me to let me know it was ready for pickup, then a few hours later that there was an issue with the truck. Ford says it’ll work with the dealer, but they don't have a policy in dealing with consumers before purchase. So I need to purchase the vehicle out right before they’ll even discuss making it right with me.

The dealership is upholding their end, but this is clearly a ford quality issue and told me to stand by to see what Ford's willing to do to accommodate me.

So far no ETA on when it’ll be fixed or what Fords going to do to make it right but only thing so far is me buying it at full price and handing me a loaner till it's fixed. Other option is wait till they build another one which we see the sped that takes.

This feels like below bare minimum and horrible customer service practices..

Talking to ford to get the part expedited and loaner. That's it, so far.

Agreed. Thanks for clarifying. Nothing but empathy here. I have never heard of a new car buying experience like this. I have heard of vehicles being damaged during transit, some severely, but none with damaged internals. "Bummer" doesn't cut it. I am guessing this will be resolved by replacing the damaged components; the only question is how long will it take.

Are you going to proceed with the sale and "sort of" delivery so the dealer can expedite repairs or are you going to pass on the deal?

My options are limited. I had to take possession or else go back in queue. Ford also said I needed to own the vehicle before they’d do any kind of damage control.

It's not ideal, but waiting another month beats trying to buy a different car off the lot.

I would immediately shoot a PM to @Ford Motor Company with you VIN and dealerships information. They are typically very responsive. Send tonight that way they get on it tomorrow first thing. Good luck and keep us posted.

I certainly would NOT close the deal just to attain the “privilege” of being able to deal with the company.

If you’re not happy, don’t buy it.

Because by buying it, you then have to lobby with the company on future issues YOU deem to be warranty-related—and don’t think for a second that just because you have a warranty that they won’t try to deny any claims. They will. All auto companies do.

I’m curious too how the dealer is going to justify putting 30 miles on your Bronco. I’ve driven plenty of test drives off a dealer lot that started at single digit miles. A custom order should absolutely be delivered as such.

30 miles may seem excessive, but I've recently read a thread where some had over 100 miles on the odometer at the time of delivery. It may depend on how much the car was driven for testing, or in and out of various assembly plants for replacement parts, etc. Not to mention how much it was driven once it was offloaded at the dealership. I don't think the mileage will be considered questionable by Ford. That said, the question should be "Why didn't the vehicle exhibit signs of internal damage before it was shipped out from the factory?" It will be interesting to follow this particular thread to see how FoMoCo deals with it. Assuming nothing.
