Badlands 2.7 Hose Issue

Something to watch out for. The clip on a coolant hose that runs directly in front of the alternator was not secure and the hose was against the alternator pulley. Which this rubbed a hole into the hose. This hose is on national backorder, so I assume Im not the only one.

I only had 802 miles on it and was roughly 480-500 miles from home. My dealer and the local dealer were no help so we ended up splicing the hose so I could make it back home.

Sorry to hear that happened but thanks for pointing out the issue. I will take a closer look at mine now.

I think this is a “known issue,” but sorry that you had to find out about it the hard way.

Ouch! Thanks for the heads up. I hope you get your Bronco back in tip-top shape ASAP. ;)
Chris here. I drive a 2-door Velocity Blue 2023 Ford Bronco Badlands with Sasquatch, Lux, a 2.7L V6, and an automatic transmission. It’s fun.

You are correct, this was a known issue a year ago. One of the 1st things I checked when I picked mine up.

Most people that I've seen post about it, have had issues within first couple of hundred miles.

Back then someone posted where to look, and how far back the hose should be. In my case mine was close, but not as close as to be rubbing, like the others I just zip tied it back to be safe.

I just shared about this potential issue to be weary of with the 2.7 engine just yesterday in the 2.3 vs 2.7 thread. I thought most of the coolant line vehicles had already worked through the system by now. Yes a zip tie or 2 should keep it from happening. Sorry this happened.

I'm already weary of your comment lol. I think we all got the idea. Unless this forum is now a spelling class. But hey thanks

I personally feel your pain. Mine only has 6K miles on it. I drove it to a conference 3 hours away. Almost. 2 hours into the trip it started overheating. I happened to pull off at an exit with a Ford dealer, Advanced autoparts, & a Chinese buffet. I hadn't heard about the hose issue unfortunately. I ended up leaving it at that dealer and my son drove over to get me. I called the dealer the next day after researching and asked them to be sure and check that hose. I am told they aren't even going to be able to look at it to diagnose until the 15th of November. that was 2 weeks ago. I cant get a loaner because I live too far away. I can't replace the hose myself because it will void the warranty. I'm stuck paying for the most expensive vehicle I've ever purchased and it's 2 hours away. Now I hear the hose is back ordered? WTF. I'll be lucky yo get it back by New years. Thanks FORD.

I can’t imagine replacing the hose yourself would void the warranty especially if you get a stock replacement on order and replace it and FMC is none the wiser, meanwhile you have a working vehicle.

I can't find documentation on which exact hose to order. I also can't get any one at the dealer to verify that hose as the leak. It's a big shot in the dark right now.
