Backup camera issues with no end in sight!! Time for lawsuit??

Hi, I have a 2022 Outer Banks with luxe package. My backup stopped working about 6 months ago and gives me Contact Dealership error every single freaking time I put in reverse..I've been to dealership 4 times, wasted lots of hours of my time, most recent they had it for 8 days!! I get there and tell me it's fixed. I get in...boom, same error message!!! Now tell me they have to order ANOTHER PART...so I'll be back AGAIN when part arrives and it will take multiple days. Wtf?? Time for class action?? Better business bureau? Anyone else having same issue that has gotten this resolved? Thanks for any help

A class action is a bit much IMO.. Is this a widespread issue? I've not heard many complaints which is why I am asking. Do you have a different dealer you can take it to?

If all else fails, try contacting Ford Customer Relationship Center at 1-800-392-3673. I think they assist with dealer issues which it sounds like you have.

Check and make sure that they did the TSB and or recall that came out on that a while ago.

All you can do is make sure they are aware of this recall. That being said, go to the NHTSB website and put in your vin. It will show any recalls for you vehicle.

The FordPass app will also tell you about recalls. It's under the 'Service' tab..

Yes, looks like many many complaints about the backup cameras unfortunately. It seems like its a Ford issue and not so much the dealer, they are relying on FORD support

Unfortunately, this is not the issue.My camera does not work at all. It gives error message when you place it in reverse and says contact the dealership...every time. Also, its not the 8 inch screen, its the lager one with the luxe package.

Absolutely right, I suspect its an AI bot just auto replying every time. I've sent them my info several times for other issues like the soft top, that is a piece of sh*T...and they never get back to me.

this is still not fixed. They are now going to replace a wiring harness that goes to the module they replaced..this will be my 6th visit for this issue since October

I think you made the right call. Hiding behind anonymity means there is no accountability. I would never give the "Ford Motor Company" bot my VIN number or want them meddling in issues between me and my dealer. I think they do more to harm to Ford's reputation than to help it.
