I have a 2023 OBX 2.3 Auto with 32000- miles. There is clunking noise when I accelerate let up and accelerate again then clunk(. I will also sometimes happen when I am stopped light and take my foot off the break to pull out. Sometimes it happens when I am just slowing down. This doesn't happen all the time but seems to be happening more often. I am thinking transmission issue but looking for feed back from other who might be having the same issue. Sorry if issue has already been posted but I searched for a while and saw other problems but not this one. Want to try to figure it out and get it fixed but the initial warranty expires. Thanks, Bronco Nation.

Hi there. Will you send us a private message with more information? I’d like to look into things on my end.

I know there are some that are having clunking issues but I believe theirs ended up being a driveshaft issue.

@ABQNMBronco your driveshaft has a slip joint yolk that needs to be lubed. Your dealer will likely not be able to address it fully because it is technically not a serviceable part. But, it’s worth a shot and worst case scenario, you become proficient at lubing you shaft regularly to reduce the clunk (oops - that sounded dirty but was meant with all the best intentions!)

I have noticed this a bit more dramatically with my OBX Bronco but in my experience all autos have this to some to degree when decelerating or braking then accelerating unlike a manual were you can Rev match. If you accelerate and slow down then have to accelerate quickly again it can be a bit jarring when the auto trans catches up.
