Bought a Ford Bronco 2021 from my local dealer and I am super stoked, however there were a couple issues with the vehicle. One of the issues was my driver door window would not lower or raise as the other windows did when car door was opened. Nor when I would activate my Global windows with my Key fob, the driver door window would not lower. My Service Dept at Ford did not know what the issue was and put me on a backorder waitlist to replace the window motor. After googling and searching the forum here, I was able to resolve the issue.

First you may ask what is Auto Indexing windows? What I found is below. Second question is how I resolved the issue. First step I disconnected the Negative cable from my battery and reconnect. Second step I pushed the start button but did not step on brake. This is the accessory mode. Third step I rolled window down until window stopped and continued to hold button down until the count of 5, then rolled up until window stopped and held button till the count of 5 and I did this again for 2 cycles all while the door was closed. Turned vehicle on and problem was fixed. I hope this helps.

I know there are similar issues in this forum but some members responses were calloused to say if you do a search you can find your issue however the search did not provide direct results.

Auto indexing windows are basically driver and passenger side windows that automatically roll down when you open your doors, and roll back up when you close them to create a water-tight seal.

Thanks for posting. Looks like I’ve been missing a step, likely why I’ve had to repeat twice on rest passenger window.

Thank. you. I was planning on having the dealer look at it when I take it in for its first oil change. But, this is very helpful!

I agree ! sometimes people are quick to pounce. The search engine is not very good. I was looking forever for RotoPax mount ideas !

I had to reset mine once before (passenger rear window). It stopped indexing after I used my rear window vents.

See pics of window vents used for camping, keeping bugs out, fresh air in for people or pets and interior from getting too hot in Summer out here in the desert. They also look cool. Not an everyday accessory IMO. The vents are a plastic frame with fabric mesh insert (mesh wont rust). I still use them after the index issue, in-fact I'm using them today while out running errands (see pic).

Only downside with the rear window vents is you can't open the rear doors or roll rear windows down when they are installed, otherwise they will fall off. Gotta keep rear doors and especially rear windows locked if driving with vents on.

Anyway. When re-setting my rear window, I tried holding that specific rear window switch both up and down for 5 seconds. Then again but this time for 10 seconds. My wife open/closed the door after each sequence until the rear passenger window started indexing again. Thankful bc those windows can snap easy when opening door if no index. Less than 5 min to fix mine. Just play around with it. If the above format doesn't work after a couple try's, also try same 5 & 10 second hold sequences but this time with all 4 window buttons pressed simultaneously.

Hope this helps.

Those are nice vents. Would really come in handy in the SW. Great post. To the OP comment of hard to find topics. Its a bit difficult to navigate the forums due to differences in descriptions from individual to individual. Most times if you ask yhe moderator team here can get the thread you need. They are outstanding and great people. Glad you were able to fix your problem.
