So this is a new one, have had it happen twice so far. Used 4A while driving to work on Friday, and noticed a slight burning smell when I arrived and turned off the Bronco. Figured I'd chalk it up to first time use of 4A. But then yesterday decided to throw it in 4A again as we were getting freezing rain, and yet again when I stopped, a slight burning smell inside.
Looks like when I have them fix my leak into the door I'll have another thing for them to look at.
Has anyone else had a similar issue?

Is it a platic-like electrical burn smell or an oil/grease burn smell. There were some cases of electrical wiring not getting properly clipped in below the vehicle and it would rub on the drive shaft.

I would say more of an electrical burn smell. I do recall reading about wires rubbing, but I couldn't remember if it was front or rear driveshaft. And since I got banned at B6g (including ip ban... yeah I'm a bad person I guess  ), it makes it a bit more difficult to find stuff over there. If I can find a dry spot in my driveway, maybe I'll try crawling under there tonight.

So I snuck back over there... shhhh ;)
I found 1 post that it did occur (looked like front driveshaft, though I don't think the poster said it was). Couldn't find the original post, but in that thread someone else mentioned the other thread and said it was rear driveshaft. Either way I have to get under the truck and look. And if the wire is rubbing and worn out, then it's up to the dealer to fix/replace it.

Well I hope you learned your lesson! =]. In that case it was the wires by the transfer case. I do seem to recall another person or two mentioning they found similar issues.

I kinda went after someone who was talking shit about me in private messages to others.. You know it's got that Facebook vibe over there... Act tough in private cuz it makes you cool.
Anyways, I did nothing more than "puke emoji" a bunch of his posts... Then a friend made me a new Avatar which may or may not have poked fun at this other person... Then Poof! Perma-ban :)

If it makes you feel any better, they deleted a thread I started before anyone even had a chance to look at it. It look me a good 30 minutes to put the poll and message together. The admin said I was asking a valid question, but the thread could lead to potential arguments. I guess they have some of those creatures from the minority report over there at B6G that can predict the future. I’m less than enthused with the censorship.

Well we are the beta testers for ford. I have used 4A a few times and luckily haven't had this problem, but I guess I will find out the more I use it

I get a ban on my new account lifted in 2hrs. He claims I ignored the no politics rule, all I said was its all political but not going further because he’d ban me, and not only did he for 2 weeks, but as AllThePonies said, deleted the evidenced as well
He’s just drunk off the power he’ll never have irl, probably a pushover to boot. Only reason Im even there is cause all the vendors are hanging there, sure the site would be better if they removed Doug and got someone who wasnt a lilliputian tyrant.

Update: unbanned, must of been an oversight. Still feel Doug needs to be removed though

By the way, think I forgot to mention. I crawled under the Bronco last night, did not see any issue with that wire on or near my front driveshaft. Looks like it's time for another call to Ford. Supposed to get snow this weekend possibly, so I'll be able to see if I notice anything again. Will update this post once I have some real information.

Took the Bronco in for 1st oil change today. Let them know about the burning smell. They took a quick look underneath and did not see anything.
So after it snows tomorrow night I'll get to use 4A again and see if the smell persists.

Is the solenoid that engages the transfer case visible ? I had one on the Jeep that stayed really hot when it was engaged and eventually burned itself out . You could smell it after a few minutes of use .

Holy hell those things are expensive! Just Googled it
I'll take a quick look next time I go outside.
Thanks for the input, gives me something to look at.
Edit: sucks the vehicle is brand new and no pics of where it's located, if I find it I'll try to snag a pic.

Hard to see up in there, guessing this might be it? Not sure, but I'll check to see if that gets hot next time I use it.

Well, I used 4A over the weekend. Did not notice any more burning smells. When I checked a few weeks ago, did not have any wires rubbing either. I will write this one off as new car burn off for now.
