Didn't see this complaint listed, maybe I missed it. 4x4 not available notification is now a chronic problem. It comes and goes. When it happens, about the only thing that's available is 4H, no lockers. It started before I even bought it. They changed a few modules and said it was GTG. It wasn't. This is the 3rd time it's been at the dealer. The last time they said it all checked out. I then went on a mini-trip to a trail and 20 miles from the trail on the freeway (Palm Springs) the notification comes on. I pulled off the freeway and started trying different combos on the 4x. Would go into 4H, not 4L. No lockers, no GOAT modes. Turned around and took it to the dealer. Wasted at least $50 in gas, 200 useless miles and my time. They said they saw the codes but when they cleared them everything worked ok. Now they are getting with the Ford engineers for a fix. I might be heading to a lemon law issue.

I had a tone ring issue that made 4x4 and a buch of other stuff unavailable but I had no 4x4. Let us know how this turns out.

Dealer called this morning. The engineers and techs are looking at replacing one of the wiring harnesses. He didn't get real specific yet and everyone is still analyzing the data. He said that everyone wants to be on the same page before they pull the trigger.

Got a call from the dealer this morning. They are replacing one of the junction boxes under the hood. They (engineers and techs) think one of the drivers in the box that controls the 4x is flaky. Maybe get it back by tomorrow.

The dealer called yesterday, the junction box change out didn't work. They've had it 2 1/2 weeks now...and...they...don't...have...a...clue. At this point I'm pretty pessimistic they are going to fix this, but who knows. I've sent am email to the GM about what he's going to do to make this right. Obviously, if they can't fix this I expect a buy back...at that point I'm finished with this dumpster fire Bronco experience. I'm looking at the Chevy Colorado ZR2.

What MY is your Bronco and which trim level? And was is purchased new or used? It seems like it was used and had issues prior to you getting it. Just curious

The Truck is a Badlands I waited 20 months for...a brand new 23. A Bronco FoMoCo basically screwed me on by removing the Sas and hard top. I took it anyway. The first day I got it, it flashed the 4x prob, but it self corrected, so I pressed on. Over about a month the prob got worse. Now it's just totally unreliable concerning the 4x system.

P.S. The dealer has been quite good in dealing with me. No complaints at the dealer level at all. They got handed a pretty crumby hand on this one by Ford.

bummer, man... I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with this after everything we've all been through on the Bronco journey. I will say, I had a 2021 Colorado ZR2 Bison, and it's a super capable truck, I just wish they were easier to put larger tires on .. they require trimming just to fit 33's .. but they've got all the goodies, skid plates, winch ready front bumper, front/rear lockers, 4 hi/lo and a WAAAAAAAAAY better audio system than the Bronco LOL ... hopefully it won't come to that for you, and you'll get your Bronco fixed...

A 23 ZR2 is plan "B" if the Bronco bites the dust and I'm able to do a buy back with the dealer. We all know there isn't any chance of a replacement Bronco. The 23 ZR2 comes with 33's ready to go. I could live with that, since that's what's on my Bronco. I think Chevy did a really good job on the Colorado redesign, especially the interior.

We're back in Bronco business!! Dealer called about 2pm...all fixed. No alarms on the way home and the 4x system tested good in the parking lot...everything worked. Will head to the local hills this Saturday and shake it out a little better. The problem was a mal-fitting pin 51 in connector C203 in the harness in the front right fender.

Wow congrats! It’s funny that it was that. I have a MY 22 Escape that had a recall regarding the lower aero cowling. While fixing they had to disconnect the wiring harness for all of the front sensors. As I was driving away it started blowing all sorts of codes and went into a limp mode. Fortunately I was about 250 ft away on a frontage road. They hadn’t connected the sensor for the exterior temperature and it was showing it as to high. All these damn electronics are killing all of these vehicles

I was almost thinking that they had finally done it with electronics...they built a car so complex that they could no longer repair it. I'll shoot out an update after a proper trail ride.

holy cow... all that from a poorly seated connector in a wire harness!! I'm so happy to hear they (hopefully) got it fixed!!! Glad to hear you're sticking with us and won't be converting to the Dark Side :)
