Had the dealer change my oil for the first time and decided to change it myself this time. No issues, removed the steel cover to access the oil pan. Replaced the drain plug with an UPR Billet Easy Oil Drain Plug in the hopes of not needing to replace it each oil change. Time will tell if it was a good investment at $50. For the oil filter replacement, I needed a 1-1/16" wrench to unscrew the filter housing. Replacement of the filter was easy, hardest part was removing the 3 o-rings for replacement on the cover. Finally I added the 6 quarts of oil and primed my engine by holding down both the accelerator and the brake and pressing the start button. The engine turns over to prime the motor. Hope this post is helpful to anyone doing this on their Bronco.

I put 7 in when I do my change, it will not hurt, extra oil = better cooling and less chance of starvation. Years ago in the 69/70 Boss 302 Ford upped the 5 quarts fill to 7 quarts. You would but a different dipstick to get the proper reading. No, you did not install a larger oil pan. Something most owners at the time would heed. Once the oil is flowing no fear of foaming, besides they had a windage tray, I'd think the 2.7 has one as well.
Don’t have to convince me or my dealer. They gave me a corrected dipstick after I took delivery. My on board owners manual says 7.
Not looking to start another debate. Just wondering if they are still filled with 7 quarts draining out?

Curious, What kind of oil can you buy for $3.60 a quarts?

Why mess around with disposable plugs?
Slip a hose over the end and drain. Need to drain a small amount? No problem.
