2021 First Edition - Fullscreen CarPlay?

Howdy! I did some searching and seems like maybe a bad OTA / Blocked APIM might be causing this issue. But, I rented a 2023 Expedition this weekend and noticed that it had fullscreen CarPlay. So I started digging around and noticed that my Bronco should have the same feature. I set up auto-updates this morning (for some reason it wasn't on) and an update issued. However, still no full screen CarPlay.

The SW is now running Sync 4 - 22087_Product Revision 415. Any ideas what I should be running? I'm guessing I'll need to go to the dealer and figure this out if its the APIM / OTA issue I read about.

Ah yeah I had visited that site yesterday and kept getting errors on my VIN. However, after yesterdays OTA it does load now but doesn’t say what updates are pending or what I should be on.

Guessing I’ll need to resolve this at the dealer as the update I got yesterday is from 2022

Yeah I added it back to my home wifi Friday and that’s when I got the recent update I did. The system does not show anymore updates. I did set it to auto update now daily. So maybe something will push it over

If this is obvious, please excuse me. When you have the split screen (using car play) in the upper left corner (near battery indicator) there should be two arrows pointing diagonally… this is the toggle for full and split screen..

Yeah there’s no option for the arrows. That’s how I discovered I didn’t have it on the Bronco. I had a rental expedition this weekend which had it

Thanks for all the help. I gave this a try and set everything back up for auto updates. The updates menu says I'm up to date. I have a feeling that its a botched OTA from awhile back and I might need an APIM replacement according to some other posts. Stinks that in todays day and age you have to go to a dealer still for software upgrades.

Not sure if this is what you are looking for but if you touch the square and 3 lines near the bottom left it switches the screen layout to show a split like map and music

Had a similar issue with my F150… my tech guy at the local dealer is basically locked out b big blue from doing anything that might fix the problems… Ford’s tech is amazing when it works, but they need to invest in lots more IT types, and they need to standardize more across their platforms…
