Curious to know if other potential Bronco owners are planning to attach a Yakima roof rack to their Ford crossbars.

During the most recent Bronco event at Mammoth, @TorgSurv was able to take some pictures of the attachment method for the Overland Bronco RTT to the crossbars. (See pics below.)

That convinced me the Yakima LockNLoad platform could be attached to the Ford crossbars if the total weight of the platform and contents did not exceed 110lbs dynamic. We know there are other methods to attach the platform, such as to the roof rails or to a set of Yakima crossbars. However, these alternative methods add height and cost with no identifiable advantage other than increase load capacity. Since I seek to stay within the 110lb limit, the increased load capacity has no value for me.

It is my hope to purchase a Yakima platform and assorted attachment for a combined weight of 73lbs.

RotopaX™ MOUNTING KIT – Yakima
TopGrip – Yakima
EyeBolts – Yakima
I hope to add one pair of recovery boards, 20lbs, one of the 2-gallon gasoline Rotopax (filled) at 16lbs, and one shovel at 3lbs for a total 112lbs. A little over, but manageable.

Are other potential owners designing a similar system? Other ideas?
I have reviewed both the Rhino-Rack Pioneer Platform and Front Runner Slimline II and currently prefer the Yakima due to its overall height and cost.

In addition, I found the following YouTube videos to be helpful.
