wire behind the rearview mirror

Anyone know whats the wire do behind the rearview mirror? I am planning to install the Wolfbox and direct replace the oem mirror. Is that ok to leave it unplug?

I think that has to do with the camera system

If you use cameras or ACC you'll want this plugged in if not you may get away with it but it may also freak out and send alerts to your dash. Along with lots of fun beeping.

I ask the guy from stickerfab, he say I can keep it unplug. oh well, let see what happen. the worst case I but the oem mirror back on. If i have beep or lights on.

I personally have zero experience with forscan, but imagine that you may be able to turn of warnings.

Read the manual to verify, but if you have adaptive cruise I think there is a sensor up there for that system.

Maybe wires to the mirror are for auto dimming the mirror. Others sensors are under that cover.
Just a guess.

adaptive cruise is in the lower front bumper, most likely is the auto dimming will see when i receive the wolfbox and install it.

ACC also uses the mirror camera in conjunction with the bumper and upper grille radar sensors. I know because mine had a fantom obstruction and was freaking out. It kept telling me to clean my windshield which was clean enough for suicidal birds.

Have wolfbox 900G replace the oem mirror, the plug is for the auto dimming feature, so I leave it unplug for now, and I dont think is for the ACC. If i got any code or lights on. I will follow up here. Now I see a lot better 😃 , btw I have the braptor, the rear view mirror is horrible, can't see the car direct behind me. Ford should included the mirror camera in the first place for an 90k car.

Do you have ACC? Mine was definitely effected by a camera in the mirror, or atleast my Bronco thought so, maybe it was just one of those Bronco quirks we get used to.

Like I said above I have the Bronco Raptor ACC is standard, not a option. Yesterday, I drove 400+ miles road trip with about 250+ miles ride with ACC, and I have no error code or lights with the auto dimm unplug. clearly that power cord is not working with ACC.

Happy to report, the wire attach to the 2024 Bronco Ractor rear view mirror just an auto dimm notting to do with ACC or any other features, and there is no warning lights or whatever pops up. I have over 1,000 miles with the wire unplug and hundreds of miles with the ACC. if there is a waring light it should pop up already.

I know this is an old thread but installing the wolf box now so I can have a front camera. Good to know I can leave the plug off. Glades don’t come with ACC so no worries there. Thought it might be the auto headlight high beam dimmer sensor guess we will see.

my auto high beam function as it should. i have that wire unplug over 8k miles, no error lights or anything, 100% confirm it just for auto dimming for the rear view mirror does not do anything else. BTW, the wolfbox is the way to go with the raptor, i love it!

I am using mine as a front camera Hells revenge made me realize one would be very handy. So I needed it before we head back in a few months. But the little I have got to use it, it is very nice upgrade it is worth every penny. Thanks for the update.
