KO2 Tire Wear or Ware, which ever is correct

I have 23K miles on my tires. As they get older there is more whine on the highway. Tires have been balanced, proper front end align, and rotation. Is the additional whine because the gaps become wider as the tire wears down? I've tried to understand tire science, but my 2.89 GPA doesn't get it. A short, simple English version is greatly appreciated. :0)

Impressive that you know your GPA!! No memory of such collegiate stats here.

Tire engineers will crow ‘bout tire noise
cancellation science . How their tread design create specific sound frequencies silencing their tires.

I say Bull Hocky! If they can do that, why not creat sounds to replicate ZZTop, Stevie Ray Vaughan or James Taylor?

Yeah, we could roll on tires that actually rock!!

Sorry, I digress. Like pretty much everything else - Tires don't get better with age..

Cheers

I remember the GPA cause it was the same for HS and college. I like the music sounds. Image $$$$ behind that.

When the tread gets shorter there is less flex in the tread block to cushion impact with the road and also less room for air to escape.👍

My tires play a tune, mostly squealing though.

You know the guy who graduated in the top 1%of his class?
I graduated from the other 1%. Yeah, I'm one of those "1%-ers," but not the ones politicians castigate.* I actually did get a B.A. That stands for "Bachelor of Alcoholism."

My issue with vehicle noise is I keep adding stuff to the roof, so I can't hear the tire noise because of the wind noise. So I crank up Mozart!

*So how does such an uneducated (miseducated?) guy use such esoteric words? I'm a writer! "Write what you know," they say...
