Afternoon Bronco Aficionados,

New member and hopefully soon, new (to me) Bronco owner. Long and short is that I’m in the market for a new (to me) vehicle. I’ve really been wanting a 6th Gen Bronco, but I’m not in the position for my dream build/spec right now. Local dealer to me has what seems to be a good deal on a First Edition two door, with the 2.7L engine, and low miles. My question for the group is what would a potential buyer need to look at on these early edition models? I feel pretty well versed on the trim packages and the options that are available on the First Editions (at least to the point of knowing where it would fit on the 2025 line up), but I’m more curious to see if anyone can help me educate myself on potential problems or issues I need to really look at before I go look at this one over the weekend. Apologies if there are threads to this previous to mine, but this place is a wealth of information, and I’m on a limited timeline with not a huge amount of free time to surf every thread on the site.

All help is appreciated, all jokes laughed at, and all ripping on “that was already posted” will be taken jovially and with due humility as a new member.

I'll start by saying I've had two early 2021 Broncos, and neither gave/are giving me a single issue, even with hot spots like the MIC hard top, Bilstein shocks, and 2.7L engines. I covered a few areas to look for in "Is the Ford Bronco Reliable?" and others chimed in with comments on their experiences. Given how you described the one you're looking at, it may not have been off-roaded much, if at all, but I'd look at the underbody, examine the top, and be prepared for the open shock recall. I hope it works out for you as a fix until you get your dream build.

You’re pretty much buying the same machine that you could get today in 2025. Like Laura said, I would be more worried about the condition.

Thanks for the advice. I’ve been reading up a bit more and don’t know if this is the one for me. Looking at it in person, there might be a few issues with it, so I think I’m going to keep looking. Appreciate the advice!

Yeah seems like the FE are either rode hard or never driven. There are plenty of Broncos out there now. With discounts and employee pricing they are selling about/near the same price a MY22 MSRPed for.
And ford wonders why the bronco has sold the most this quarter than ever before. Price it right and you sell more of them. Go figure.
Good luck.
