Been immersed in Bronco related research with a focus this week on tires. Curious to know if any BN members have experience with the Falken Wildpeak A/T3W.

Since I live in New Hampshire and camp in Maine year-round, I require a tire with a three-peak mountain snowflake (3PMSF) rating. I am concern that the new Goodyear Wrangler Territory tire does not yet have a 3PMSF rating from what I can determine. I know the BFG KO2 has the rating.

I do like the idea of having 35s on my Bronco and not sure about the Goodyear tires. I realize many potential buyers could be converting their reservations to orders before we know about the Goodyear rating.

With that knowledge limitation, I may be ordering stock tires (BFG KO2 33s) on my Badlands and switching them out with a set of Falken Wildpeak A/T3W, 35x12.5R17LT tires.

Not sure if anyone is considering a similar or different path.

YouTube has many videos on different tires. I attached one video with a focus on northern climates.

I'm running a set of 285/70-17 AT3W's on Raptor take off wheels on my 2015 F-150 and I'm very happy with them. I keep the tire pressure @ 35psi and rotate every 5000 miles, so far they're holding up very we and have even wear pattern @ 20k. They handle as well as the OEM tires and are surprisingly quiet. Jeep is using Falken all terrain and mud terrain tires as OEM equipment and I wouldn't hesitate to purchase another set based on my experience. Hope this helps!

I am a big fan of the KO2 tires. I am already nagging my salesman to include a tire swap from the GoodYear tires to the BFG KO2 tires before I drive my new Bronco home.

I have been reading a ton of reviews and it seems some owners switched from KO2s to Wildpeak and found a significant decrease in highway road noise. Interesting!

I have been concerned with this as well and wish Ford would of just used the KO2s for the Squatch. It would be nice to have some more info available.

The Falkens look like a great choice Buzzy! You plan on running on stock BL, lift or still poss going Squatch? I am still concerned the 35s will be a tight fit...

At this point, I plan to buy a Badlands with the stock wheels/tires, no Sasquatch. Some time after, new wheels and tires. Hope to evolve into 35s. Plan scope and timetable is still a work in progress.

I have pondered this as well to get my Bronc sooner. I want a ManSquatch but hate the wait until MY22 now...ugh.

Difficult decision for sure. There is a lot to be said for holding off until MY22. I have thought long and hard on that topic.
However, once the Broncos start rolling off the assembly line, the forum will be an explosion of pics/videos and discussions. First mods, first trail run, camping trip, roof off, favorite song on the stereo, on and on. Sort off want to be a part of that!

I am with you there...I can't wait either! I haven't been this excited since I was a kid and a new cool vehicle would come out! I am torn between making some additional compromises to get the Bronc sooner or wait and get more of what I thought my perfect build would be and possibly take advantage of some MY22 upgrades. Decisions, decisions...

Buzzy, I can attest to the nice on-road ride the Wildpeak A/T 3Ws have. We got momma’s ride new shoes this summer. They are really nice. Plus they give the Pilot a better stance and capability!

People may not think of these for a ride like the Pilot but I think they work nicely. My wife has been happy with them. Good news for me is that she wants to get another Tacoma after we get the Bronco. Kids are approaching the “fly the coup” stage.

I am also running AT3Ws on my 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk. They are a whopping 245/65R17 (29.5" dia) I have been really happy with them and they offer great traction off-road. When sufficiently aired down, they performed great on the sand dunes.

I am also sticking with the stock size tires on the Bronco and will definitely keep the Falkens in mind when it's time to upsize.

Just a minor concern - Did you notice where those Falkens are manufactured?

This is an interesting discussion. The Bronco will be my first non sports car vehicle and I plan to get a low spec manual 2-door Big Bend and then gradually build it up slowly for some light off roading. One issue I have with more aggressive off road/all terrain tires is the noise they make on the road. I live in TX and can't believe the noise that comes from some of the trucks I hear on the freeways in Houston. I realize that some of these rigs are for show only and will never see dirt. So far I read good things about the Nitto Terra Grappler G2.

It is nice the way you will not need to worry about tire performance on snow and ice. :) For me, that is critical. I also hope to select a tire that decreases road noise. Unfortunately, my dual requirements will limit my choices. However, I have found YouTube to be beneficial in understanding tire characteristics.

I had the Terra Grapplers on my F250, it was a fine tire but I am running Toyo Open Country on it now. Really can’t speak for the sound as I can’t hear tire noise over the sound of that Cummins. But I don’t think these tires meet Buzzys needs for snow and such us central Texas folks don’t really need to worry about that so we can get just about any AT tire and be fine. Although for my bronco I am looking at maybe some General Grabbers or even Hankooks. I hear good things about the Generals and Hankooks on my cars have been the best tires I have ever owned.

I live in the PNW. Have to have a great winter snow/rain tire for my daily driver Rubicon That I take off-road. Based on all my research, the Falken Wildpeak AT3W and the Toyo AT3 got the best reviews. I went with the Toyos and I am very happy so far. Off-road, rain, snow, and highway performance has been excellent. A friend has the Falkens and says same for his.
