So a large rock flew up and hit my windshield this past friday, directly on the "BRONCO" logo above the VIN area. It was small, but starting to grow.
My question is about a proper replacement. How can I get one that is the same? I am doubting that SafeLite has Bronco windshields laying around.
Just wondering if anyone has went through this yet.

Look for an authorized EXO Shield installer. They can install the EXO Shield on the windshield be it is installed in the Bronco. Worked great for me.

*UPDATE*
Insurance company is covering the cost of the OEM replacement. In KY for reference.
Being performed by SafeLite, as well as all the recalibrations on all safety equipment.

With as often as Broncos need new windshields I would imagine that safelite has these OEM windshields in stock or at least can get them pretty quick.

I think that you really need to tell whichever company you are working with, that you want an OEM replacement. Otherwise they might try to go with a non OEM replacement.

Don't go to Safelite. They work for the Ins. Co. and give you the cheapest thing they can find. I went to my dealer. They had a local shop that does all their replacements. The office mgr. go me the original OEM windshield no ??? asked. All covered by the Ins. Co. When SL was in competition with other glass Co. they did a good job. Not no more!!

I will add. I did the protection film. I have 3 hits that show and several that didn't leave a mark.

I have added the film to my fleet (Freightliner, Kenworth, Isuzu and Peterbilt) and windshield replacement has dropped dramatically.

I went with my dealer who uses a company who gets their glass from Ford. I didn't want a generic windshield.
If you're in the DMV happy to share who I used.

My experience has been that the film did not help. It was an expensive experiment. Because of the vertical nature of the front windshield, if you take a decent-sized rock, it's going to crack. I also found the film meant that I had to be very careful about washing the windshield and using the wipers. That meant that when off-roading, I couldn't just hit the washer button and spray washer fluid on a dry, dusty, dirty windshield. The consequences of doing so mean scratches in the film, ultimately reducing visibility, particularly when driving into the sun or having the sun shine directly on the windshield. The cost of the film probably pays (or more than pays) your glass deductible.

Oddly, the second windshield has lasted longer than the first, even though it is not protected by the film. So, it's really just luck. I would say that the film probably protects against chips, but not cracks. But the tradeoff with maintenance and usability aren't worth the trouble, particularly if you off-road. And consider it an absolute no-go if you use anything but a touchless car wash or hand wash.

I had mine replaced and was very clear I had to have the factory windshield with the "since 1966" it was simple since they order from Ford using the VIN there was no battle to be had and I got thr correct windshield.
